People need to see the bigger picture here, regarding Iran. Don't you think there was a reason why Bush - 43' included Iran in his "axis of evil" ? Our 5th fleet has been based in Bahrain for decades. This is right across the bay from Dhahran, Saudi Arabia - their main oil production facility.

On the day after a multinational conference aimed at trying to stop the violence in Iraq... there was more violence today... at least 20 killed in two separate attacks.  It comes just as President Bush plans to send 4 thousand more U.S. troops to Iraq... that's in addition to the 21-thousand troop surge.  NBC's Tom Aspell reports from Baghdad.  NBC's Kelly O'Donnell is traveling with the President in Colombia where Mr. Bush's visit prompted protests and tight security. Suprising Talks

We are following several important stories tonight.

From Iraq... we'll have the latest on the regional conference between Iraq, Iran, Syria and the United States.  The fact that envoys from Iran and the U.S. were at the same table... made this an unusual meeting.  Iraq's Prime Minister urged his neighbors to take a strong stand against terrorism.  NBC's Richard Engel is there tonight... and will have the latest.

Also... NBC's Ian Williams is in Iran with reaction from people on the street... to this latest conference.

As President Bush continued his trip through South America ... he had little to say about the Iraq conference.  The focus of his remarks today had to do with an ongoing controversy back in the U.S. There have been reports this week that the FBI abused its power in gathering information about suspected terrorists.  There have also been allegations that the Justice Department decided to replace several U.S. attorneys because of political pressure.  The revelations prompted the President to defend his Attorney General today.  NBC's John Yang is following that story from Washington.

NBC's Kelly O'Donnell is traveling with the President in Uruguay.  Last night in Argentina... Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez organized a huge protest against President Bush's visit... where thousands turned out at a soccer stadium.  Kelly will have that story.

The price of gasoline is on the rise again in the U.S. We'll talk to energy analyst John Kilduff about what we can expect this summer.

It's time to spring forward.  It's actually 3 weeks earlier than usual.  NBC's Tom Costello will tell us about the change this year.

And we'll end with Scotch whiskey.... why the Chinese have helped revive interest in the drink.  That story from Stephanie Gosk.

NBC's Chip Reid will have the latest from the hill... NBC's John Yang reports from the White House... and NBC's Jane Arraf reports from Baghdad.

Plus... travel troubles.   After the snowstorm in the northeast... some flyers are still stuck in airports this holiday weekend.  Jetblue has gotten the most attention... but other airlines canceled flights too... and some of those passengers are still trying to get out of town.  NBC's Rehema Ellis reports tonight from JFK airport in New York.

NBC's Mark Potter reports on State Farm's decision to no longer write homeowner insurance policies in the state of Mississippi.

She found a unique program in Vermont that's serving as an alternative to assisted living.  She'll have that story tonight.
