The World Economic Forum has come out with their 2013 Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report assessing 140 economies worldwide. Scroll down to the second chart, posted below, where they rank the attitude of each country's population toward visitors. Iceland, New Zealand and Morocco are the friendliest, and the three most unfriendly countries are Bolivia, Venezuela and Russia.

It would be nice if the list was readable!

We have traveled to 90 countries around the world. A number of these countries we have visited more than once. Included in our visits are: New Zealand and Morocco (listed as among the most friendly). However, the friendlist country that we have visited, by far was Iran. Believe it or not, Iran was more friendly to us as tourists, visitors, than anywhere else we have visited. We have found people to be friendly - at least to some extent - everywhere that we have traveled, including Europe where we have spent a lot of time. However, Iran has the friendliest people. Period.

We have traveled to 90 countries, and we have returned to quite a few of these countries one or more times. We have spent quite a bit of time in Europe. My wife and I were born in the U.S. and have lived in the U.S. except for the almost years that we lived in Paris. Of all of the countries that we have visited, the people of Iran are the friendliest! No queston about it. Regardless of myths about Iran and political issues between nations, the people are exceptionally friendly, whether in the big cities or small villages. Our experience of this was surprising but delightful!
