Tonight NBC's Anne Thompson profiled One Simple Wish, an organization that's making a difference by granting wishes to foster children. If you're interested in helping, please visit their website, www.onesimplewish.org, where potential donors can register and search a database to choose the wish they'd like to grant.

For more, watch the "Nightly News" story and extended interview below.

An organization called One Simple Wish has granted the wishes of more than 3000 foster children, providing a small piece of joy to kids still in need of a permanent family. NBC's Anne Thompson reports.

An incredible service for the children who need it most. Thanks for bringing this to light.

I also thought this was an incredible service. I think the page may have been overwhelmed with the response and crashed. Keep on trying later on tonight or tomorrow.

I saw this story on the news tonight and it's exactly what I have been looking for in a charitable Christmas gift from the children in our family - but I also found the website link to be unavailable. Any help on this is appreciated....

No child's WISH should be "a nice suitcase", so moving from one foster home to another will be easier. But, unfortunately, that is what some kids have to deal with. What a fabulous organization! I had trouble getting on their website, but I will...eventually. I want to help and so should everyone who has lived a blessed life!

This is a wonderful idea, I think too often the kids in the "system" are allowed to fall through the cracks

and they miss out on so many of the most simple things. I looked at the website and thought it would

be terrific to be able to start something similar here where I live, but there was no link to "contact us"

sure would like have an email or something.

I tried to get on the "One Simple Wish" website, but it's not available. Too bad. I'd like to look into this charity.

I too also saw a few of the wishes on the One Simple Wish website, then the site crashed. It stated that it was due to an error including capacity overload. Hopefully this wonderful cause is getting lots of attention since being on the news. I will also try again to view in a day or two, what a wonderful way to give to deserving children during the holiday season.

I also will be back to view the One Simple Wish website. Great to hear they are getting so much attention. What a wonderful way to give to deserving children in foster care who do not get the simple things most children take for granted. What a wonderful organization!
