Hi Brian
I got to see Rep. Lewis on MSNBC as he said he and others were working on a Voting rights issue due to many State Governors violating the 24th Amendment. I thought Mitt and I along with other 16 years old of that time watch President Johnson sign the Civil Rights Bill which included all rights. Many elected Officials at the time continued denying citizens the right to vote so 1965 President Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act. Now it seems elected officials need another Voting Rights Law to understand citizens have the right to vote. Virginia is bringing back a modern poll tax as people are required to pay for a State ID and US Passports aren't proof your a citizen. Vets who served in WWII and even Afghanistan/Iraq have to prove their Americans. USA use to be the example of how Democracy works but no longer.
Mayor Bloomberg is so funny and you have to wonder what he has invested in to push for this stupid bill. People only have to carry their own large drink mugs or maybe that's what the Mayor is investing in, smart move.
Mitt is doing very well with his support group like Rush, Ted Nugent, Religious Leaders, The Donald and even the KKK. In North Carolina the KKK is holding rallies with Cross Burning to get the vote out. Republican Governors are working hard to get those disenfranchised laws in place to reduce the number of voters. Fox News the so called fair/balanced news had it's own hate ad about Obama just to assure their voters know Mitt's the man. Life is great and people are so funny as Mitt said new Constitutional laws for a President should be made that fit his background in business. Nothing mentioned about Draft Dodgers and some really great Presidents would never been allowed to run for office under Mitt's new qualifications. But at lease Corporate CEO's are ready for 2013 as one said Corporates will pay zero taxes under the Romney Administration, Wall Street is already celebrating as business as usual will be done and Banks can finally get that second large bailout and the promise to pardon all pass/present/future crimes. Now comes the hard work to get 50.1% American voters who buy this bull Mitt is selling.
Congress had announced nothing will be done so there's no news to report until 2013. That's the kind of job I would love to have, get paid for doing nothing. But 2010 voters knew best and gave the majority to the GOP and elected the insane Tea Party Law Makers who are clearly in need of medical help.
have a great day all
Good Evening Mr.Lauer, Nice to see you filling in for Mr.Williams. First time anchoring Nightly News and you did a good job. Always enjoy seeing you in the Today Show!
First of all the report by Lisa Myers about the verdict in the John Edward's trial which finally came to a verdict of not guilty on one count and a mistrial on the other five counts. Truly an emotional day in the courtroom for the John Edward's and his family. Edward's statement about being responsible for all his behavior was expected to hear from him. Ones thoughts and prayers go out to all the children of the family since it has been a long stressful trial. One wonders if there will be a retrial of Mr. Edwards. Time will tell.
The report by Mr.Mott about the possible ban on large size sugary drinks in New York City has certainly caused some mixed reactions from people. Hearing how much sugar is consumed by people each year is incredible and to see the size of the cups is staggering. Although, all the sugar consumption is a health risk and leads to obesity so perhaps this ban could help many people. Health is a major issue amongst people and other restrictions on things like tobacco have helped to lessen the health risks. But it is a debate and not everyone agrees on the possible ban. If one city proposes the ban do other cities follow. That is an issue to be debated for the next few months.
Nice to see the unveiling of the portraits of Former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush. at the White House. The speeches by Former President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush were quite humorous.
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Lauer! Peace to You and to All!
Be Well Everyone!
