I never leave comments on these types of things. But I just wanted to say - that debate in Tampa last night was horrible. The questions were ridiculous and the ignoring of Ron Paul by Brian Williams was unbelievable. I don't care who you support - all of the candidates should be given equal time & stop trying to poison us with your propaganda of who you think we should vote for!
Thanks Brian for your dignified "debate" leadership last night.
I am so upset at our Government tax code to think that Mitt only paid 14% of his overall income in taxes in 2011. I am a teacher, my husband is an engineer in Michigan and we paid about twice that! Believe me, I would love to pay 14% less a year in taxes. Last year that would have gone a long way in buying diapers, groceries, and paying off my student loans.
This revelation just makes it more apparent how bad things are with our government. It is so disheartening to all of us who have degrees, steady jobs, pay our taxes, and realize that we are carrying more than our fair share of the tax burden. Clean up the tax code please. Everyone who lives here and works here should pay taxes (citizen or not) – and get rid of all the loop-holes that only the 1% of Americans qualify for anyway. It’s just disgusting.
Do you understand the money Romney made while working, he paid what ever was the going income tax rate, 35% or what ever. That money he made, and paid income tax on, was invested and is currently earning investment returns of which he pays, as the law requires, 15% on those returns.
Check to see what Sen. John Kerry paid the year he was running for president. I think it was around 12%. It's just disgusting.
Interesting Debate as Newt even changed history that's been 15 years old. Mitt is rich and he's not the only wealthy person with off shore accounts. Santorum will rather a woman continue to believe a lie then correct her. Ron Paul would be a great Professor for a discussion on the Constitution. It was funny when Newt called himself a historian advising Fannie/Freddie in bringing the housing crisis, much like a plumber doing heart surgery. Florida citizens are hit hard with the housing crisis and it seems that isn't a serious issue. Billionaire Sheldon Adelson has a big investment in getting Newt in the White House and Corporation/Banks are pouring money in for their man Mitt. All this PAC money from Billionaires/Corporations/Banks, what ever happen to the regular American just giving a few bucks to the candidate?
The CIA agent charged with leaks and Vice President Cheney did the same thing with no charges. Now that's what is wrong with the legal system. Americans were told for years we don't torture and even our President gave that report. Well it was a lie we learned later. The CIA agent leaked the truth and he's charged as even lies by our country are to be protected. Covert CIA Agent Valerie Plame working in Iran had her name exposed by Dick Cheney and Plame will be a target for the rest of her life. The Iran people who worked with Plame in Iran were quickly killed once the information came out. If the Courts fine this ex-CIA agent guilty then Vice President Dick Cheney is guilty too.
The best artress left out of the list for an Oscar was Emma Stone. What does Leo have to do to get an Oscar? Puss n Boots is the winner. Hugo was a good movie and just might win.
have a great day all
You must have gotten your information about Valerie Plame from Media Matter. None of what you mention above has a shred of truth in it.
JustBfair you would enjoy talking with Pat Fitzgerald and Randall Samborn the attorneys that worked on the Valerie Plame leak case. Sorry I do alot of reading and traveling and got lucky meeting these guys. Now I know you didn't read Valerie Plame's book because you wouldn't make that comment. You can try google with the topic as it does gives you the information not given in detail. After working 25 years in the court system you might be surprised it's public record once the decision is made by the Judge. With so many Americans just listening and not reaching the facts I understand your comment. I guess the best time I did have was talking with the late Johnnie Cochran on a flight from NYC to Los Angeles. I know Scooter Libby wish all this didn't have a shred of truth before his conviction. Here's a little of what you missed/
On July 14, 2003, Washington Post journalist Robert Novak, from information obtained from Richard Armitage at the US State Department, effectively ended Valerie Plame's career with the CIA (from which she later resigned in December 2005) by revealing in his column her identity as a CIA operative.[32][33] Legal documents published in the course of the CIA leak grand jury investigation, United States v. Libby, and Congressional investigations, establish her classified employment as a covert officer for the CIA at the time that Novak's column was published in July 2003.[33]
Read what you wrote. You said she was exposed by Dick Chaney. You have evidently been around lawyers to long. What you said wasn't actually what you said.
Brian Williams did more in 1 minute to salvage the image of GOP voters by telling the audience to be quiet than a roomful of GOP politicans could in a decade In a New York minute, etc. as the country song goes
I really liked the first 30-40 minutes of "your reactions to this ad is?"
Mitt Romney is the smartest man in the room. The law requires employers to report any hired help. Check out the following
IRS forms released Tuesday by Mitt Romney's presidential campaign show that despite reporting income of $21.7 million, the couple paid only $20,603in taxable wages for household help in 2010. This figure was divided among four women: Rosania Costa ($4,808), Kelli Harrison ($8,667), Susan Moore ($2,238) and Valerie Cravens Anae ($4,890).
Now only 20,603 dollars in total but don't worry the ladies are Mormons and of course a difference is made up by the church. Now that's a smart man to hire from his religious group to keep everyone happy. Mitt puts millions in a trust for his sons to assure he's not taxed which is what he learned from his Dad.
Brian,
Is it true, that for debate preparation, the main stream media confers with the whitehouse team to develop the questions to be ask?
Good Evening Mr.Williams, a fine broadcast this evening and looking forward to your coverage of the State of the Union Address tonight. You did a great job moderating the Republican Debate last night. Much attacking again between the candidates, but you did an excellent job.
The report by Mr.Todd tells of President Obama's State of the Union Address as being populace and speaking of going forward in building a stronger economy. Hopefully, the Address having a positive tone will generate some positive results for the future of our nation.
Good to hear from Kelly O' Donnell that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will be attending the State of the Union.
Interesting to hear some of the recordings of President John F. Kennedy. Speaking of re-election, showing films in color for the campaign and even the children John annd Caroline being on the tapes. So tragic and heartbreaking to hear President Kennedy speak about scheduling after his trip to Dallas. Very interesting and also sad.
The piece about the Oscar Nominations for this year by Mr.Lewis told of how these nominated films are a throwback to the old Hollywood era of nostalgia. Having films such as "The Artist" a silent film and "Hugo" in incredible. A fine list of nominees this year. Congratulations to All the Nominees!
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Looking forward to NBC coverage of the State of the Union Address. Peace to You and to All!
Be Well Everyone!
Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard!
Take Extra,Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

A superb State of the Union Speech by President Obama with mention of Louisville but yeah avatar AG Eric Holder
is gonna stop mortgage fraud. Mitt Romney has the right idea: let it runs its course and create jobs.
