Hey Brian,

Maybe you could ask the candidates tomorrow night this question; If you were president, would you allow the country to run for 1000 days without a budget?

David Gregory could not find the guts to ask Harry Reid about it. He stumbled around the no budget for a year. What a disgrace that Greory is.

1000 day year, that one made me spit coffee laughing too.

I'm hoping the two Progressives (Romney and Newt) destroy each other with their lies. Please ask Santorum if he'd be "too racist" to bring William K. Black back into government so he can prosecute the economic terrorist that attacked us in 2008.

William K. Black is white but I figured if the question included "are you too racist?" you rusty old gate keepers would be more willing to ask it.

Thanks

Indeed, justbefair. Not a soul in the national media wants the voting taxpaying public to find out about how the Democratic leadership in our Congress (Pelosi for two yrs, and Reid for 3 yrs) have not allowed a vote on passing a federal budget. And none of them are ever about to ask Pres Obama about his failed leadership here.

This media does not want the people to know - and most don't know.

So NBC has essentially decided that it's a choice between Gingrich and Romney. No post-debate coverage of Santorum or Paul. I'm an independent but with all the talk about our constitution it seems terribly bias of NBC to quite literally cut out the other two candidates. It's like you're dictating who you would like to run in the primary and ultimately run in the next presidential election. Personally, I don't like any of them but at least give them all a fair shake.

        Brian my questions for Newt

Even though CNN's John King delivered his first question in a clumsy way do you think it appropriate to blame what you call the "elite media" about your hypocritical and immoral behavior having to do with your serial adulterous behavior while at the same time pointing at President Clinton for similar behavior?

Is it really appropriate and helpful to play the racist, sexist, classist, elite media aces that you played in South Carolina in Florida or any where else? You and your team know what I am talking about. Foodstamps "thank you Mr. Speaker for putting Juan Williams in his place" card. Sickening just sickening

Is it acceptable to hide racism, sexism, classism while hiding behind any alleged religious beliefs?

        Questions for Romney:

Why do you seem incapable of turning to the 99% crowd and acknowledging that they have legitimate concerns?

Given the hypocritical attitude of so many so called Christians why do you think it seems unacceptable for you to embrace your compassionate conservative stances on making health care affordable for all?

Brian , Please ask the candidates: Which of you feel that masssive fraud has been perpetrated on American taxpayers and investors by the banks, rating agencies, Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac and gone unpunished? As president how do you plan to bring justice to the criminals who organized this racketeering? Thanks, Michael Schlueter

You forgot HUD (Andrew Cuomo and President Clinton) who laid out the ground rules for the housing bubble and the sub-prime market, and put the plans in action - during the 90's and in 2000.

              #3.1 - Mon Jan 23, 2012 5:15 PM EST

I forgot. Actually Brian Williams asked then Candidate, Sen. Obama, in late 2007 about who we should see about the developing crisis (housing bubble was crashing) - and who/what caused it.

Obama's answer out of the box was to explain that he (they) all thought the original plan - to push tens of millions of poor minorities into homes - provide $trillions in government loan guarantees, was a good idea -- one that just got out of control as everyone jumped on the bandwagon. Obama seems to understand rather well what happened.

Williams, not wanting that discussion out there - immediately changed the subject (no follow-up questions) to "So, how's the campaign going?"

NBC doesn't want the audience - the people - to understand what caused this crisis.

The four remaining GOP presidential candidates debated in Tampa, Fla., on Monday night on NBC, moderated by the "NBC Nightly News" grandstanding anchor Brian Williams. This spectacle was mostly a dialogue between former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. During the first part of the debate, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum were basically left out. BuzzFeed reported Paul and Santorum spoke less than five minutes for the first one-third of the program.

This program was a massive disgrace. Williams should be ashamed of himself for generally excluding Santorum and Paul. If these debates aren't going to strive to give equal time to the participants, why do the organizers even bother to invite those who they are going to disrespect?

According to The Hill, during the first 40 minutes, Paul only got to speak once and Santorum got to talk twice. Watching the first part of the debate made me feel very uncomfortable because I kept thinking about how Paul and Santorum must've been feeling being left out and having to stand and listen to long blocks of dialogue between Romney and Gingrich. They traded barbs over things like the former's charge of the latter being involved in "influence peddling," as reported by ABC News.

This debate lasted just less than 100 minutes, as reported by USA Today but when factoring in the irritating commercial breaks, it was even less. This debate was a wasted opportunity, but Santorum and Paul didn't protest, acting very polite despite being disrespected by Williams.

Yet the establishment media has been signaling the GOP race is down to two candidates, for on Sunday, the host of "Face the Nation," Bob Schieffer, called for a one-hour debate between just Gingrich and Romney, according to HuffPost Media.

I am tired of debate moderators who do not strive to let everyone have as close to equal time as possible. The establishment TV media continues to try to influence how the public will vote, especially when they deny equal time to all the debate candidates.

The public shouldn't take the bait, but instead be discerning and be informed outside of prime time, because an informed citizen is the biggest deterrent against the biased, scheming talking heads on TV like Williams....Written by Roy Barnes..

                    Brian,

A question for Mitt tonight: How the heck did he accumulate (reportedly) up to $100 million in his IRA when yearly contributions are maxed at $2,000 and 401Ks (assuming he did a rollover) are maxed at $22000? He must have done some very creative things in that Bain 401K account with company stock, etc. He needs to explain this.

Here is my question for Newt Gingrich:

"Mr. Speaker: Many state, local and foreign governments are confronting deficit crises with a combination of budget cuts and tax increases, including the conservative British government. Many of those tax increases are on the wealthiest taxpayers, who unlike most workers can pay higher taxes without cutting personal spending and reducing overall demand.

Can you explain how it would harm the economy to increase the taxes paid by Mitt Romney, who by his own description is “unemployed,” and therefore not currently a job creator? And can you explain how it would benefit the American economy in general, and the deficit crisis in particular, to cut Mitt Romney’s taxes to zero, as you propose to do by eliminating capital gains taxes altogether?"

Blaming the Media for questioning a candidate about headline news is now off the table and bringing up a historic matter where a Speaker of the House charged with 84 ethic violations/fined 300,000 dollars is off the table. Even making 1.8 million dollars as a consultant advising Fannie/Freddie have to bring the housing to a collapse is off the table. Brian you might want to ask Newt what you can ask him. Mitt might have wished he hadn't entered this race as England is closing in on his off shore accounts. Most Americans have no idea about the percentage of taxes they pay verses the wealthy. Well the good news is thanks to the Congress blocking Obama's tax break for the middle class/poor millions will see a much less tax return and many will see nothing or owingtaxes. The rate now with the support of the GOP is about 35 to 40 per cent for regular people and a lower rate then 15 for the wealthy. People might no understand but when they see the difference in their taxes this year they will wake up quick. I must admit the GOP did a great job at sucking in the American people and they are getting a good laugh. Brian you might want to remind Newt that his teenage Mom used welfare/food stamps for three years before she married Officer Gingrich. Newt might want to check out the movie Red Tail of the Tuskegee Airmen who did volunteer to serve our country and didn't dodge the Military and yes they are black and didn't use food stamps even while being discriminated.

Baby Eli and the Giants are taking us to the Super Bowel. I don't think Brady should use the same trick he used before with that fake injury. Both games were great but as a Jersey Girl it's always the Giants. This is a repeat and should be good.

Tenn. Tea Party now wants the word slavery removed from US text books. No wonder the US is ranked so low in education with people like this. Slavery was around long before the US was founded and England as an interesting history site of slavery. If Americans would read the history of what slavery was around the World and even take a few minutes to read the bible this wouldn't be a problem. The smartest thing the Founding Fathers did was selected the educated leaders from each State because we see elected idiots who have no idea what their doing. South Carolina Christian shown Newt has the Morals/Values that represent Christian Americans and it looks like the other Southern States will follow. Mitt's religion is looking more like Christian religion now with the choice of Newt.

I'm not a fan of Justice Scalia but he was corrupt when he said don't blame the Court for the decision in favor of Citizens United. The High Court ruled on the Constitution as it's the responsibility of the Congress to make the laws. Congress has set up Corporate take over while Americans are clueless. Most Americans don't know what the Constitution even says and even Law Makers don't know, as we see Corporations have put lobbyist in as staffers to assure these policies are done. Ignorance allows this to happen and as long as more Americans don't read and stay ignorant as we hear candidates say they will end the Department of Education to get more uneducated Americans. Once Americans realize the Bill of Rights allow the people to decide and not corporations/banks/profiteers, well then we will see change.

                        have a great day all

Four questions we won't hear from Brian Williams tonight . . NBC Hosted Republican presidential Debate

Williams: Mr. Republican candidate for President. During the Bush years, congress passed and President Bush signed a federal budget each and every year. Since President Obama became President, congress has not sent him a federal budget to sign. The details of this is that for the two years Pelosi was speaker, she did not allow a vote to be held on the budget and for the three years that Sen. Reid has been majority leader, he has not allowed a vote to take place. Remarkably, we've not heard President Obama say a word about the complete failure of the Democratic leadership here. What will you do as President to entice our Congress to do their job?

Note: The next question is copied (rephrased) from Gov. Christy's comments, yesterday on Meet the Press. Well, done Gov.

Williams: Why has President Obama not led on the recommendations of his own debt commission? He never embraced Simpson-Bowles. He asked for it, he put it on the shelf for purely political reasons, he showed political cowardice by doing it, and an absolute fear of confronting the big issues in our country. If he had - if he would - come out and said, "You know what, I was wrong to put Simpson-Bowles on the shelf. I should take it off the shelf, I'm going to send it to the Congress and I want to have a vigorous debate and discussion about really tackling debt and deficit in our country in an honest and forthright way, the way Senator Simpson and Mr. Bowles suggested." He has never done this. That would surprise the nation if he did it, and I think it would show great leadership if the president was willing to do it. If you are elected President, will you actually lead like a President on the serious issues facing our nation? (I note - David Gregory’s response to Christy's damning charge, was to ignore the point, and to ask where he thought Republicans were culpable in the paralysis in Washington - big surprise)

Williams: Numerous staunch Democrats and supporters of President Obama have come out recently - in fact some of them, like Chris Matthews are our own - and taken the President to task of what seems to be the fact, that he is not engaged in the process; that he doesn't like to work with Congress; that he perhaps, doesn't really like being President. Why do you think so few American voters have heard the news here?

Williams: Polls consistently show that most Americans are strongly opposed to President Obama's agenda on illegal immigration reform; that most want a smaller government costing less, not more; that most do not support ObamaCare; that most did not support his Stimulus Bill, and fewer today, believe that it worked. Why is it, do you believe, that Obama is so tone deaf to the populist positions of the American people?

The way to prevent it - is to not order it up in the first place.

HUD laid out the vision, created the ground rules, set the machine in motion, and ordered up [regulated] how the plan be implemented and carried out, then set it in motion.

First of all, I'd like to clarify that not everyone from South Carolina is an Evangelical conservative. You would think so by watching the coverage of the SC Republican Primary but, in fact (maybe it's the company I keep) all of my family and friends are Democrats. By the way, I am white, middle income (I believe) and middle-aged.

I would like Brian to ask the following question to any of the Republican candidates: "Do you believe that a Muslim, Atheist, Unitarian Universalist, or anyone else with other spiritual beliefs who meets all of the qualifications to become President of the United States has the right to become the President of this country?

Are you saying that President Obama is a Muslim, Atheist, or Unitarian Universalist? Which one, and why would it be so terrible if he was? Where did you get your information? Would it be better to have an angry hypocrite running our country?

Thank you and have a great day! (We have a reputation of being polite in SC.)

Good Evening Mr.Williams, a fine broadcast from Tampa, Florida the location of the Republican Debate tonight. I'm sure you will do an excellent job moderating the debate. The Republican Candidates have certainly been making many attacks on one another especially between Mr.Romney and Mr.Gingrich. It is going to be a long campaign with many primaries to go.

Also, nice to see Savannah Guthrie reporting from the anchor desk in New York.

First of all the report of the severe weather storms which caused so much destruction in the Southern States. The report by Mr.Fisher showed much destruction from tornados in Arkansas and Alabama with many homes destroyed. Highly unusual for the winter time months to have tornados touch down and in areas already hard hit from tornados last year. One hopes the people of the areas can recover quickly.

The report by Kelly O'Donnell about Rep. Gabrielle Giffords saying farewell to her district due to her resigning was moving. She has made remarkable progress in a year since the horrible shooting incident and she does need time to recover. Nice to know she will be able to attend the State of the Union Address by President Obama tomorrow evening. She has such determination and is an inspiration to many people. One hopes she continues to make a great recovery.

I'm sure you are happy Mr.Williams the New York Giants are in the Superbowl!

And an incredible rescue of the Texas Family from the plane crash in the water. The help of some wonderful people saved their lives. It is amazing and it is great the family is all okay and back home.

Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. You will do a great job moderating the Republican Debate tonight! Peace to You and to All!

In the 1990's under President Bill Clinton, the military was down-sized, but deployments increased. The U.S. military is about to down-size again so as President what role do you see America's military playing in foreign affairs in places like South Sudan, Somalia, Iran, Venzuela, and other nations that threaten our national security?

Each enlisted soldier can be called back to duty up to twenty years even when they finished their time. My daughter served in Afghanistan and Iraq, she's out of the service but still required to be called in if they is a need for the country. I know many remember how many draft dodgers left to Canada and Mexico and how many used political power to dodge the draft but be assure our brave men and woman are still available when the country needs them. As for other young Americans they have a choice of signing up. Mitt Romney as already said he will not allow his sons to join the US Military. You would enjoy talking to our Vets and how once you sign up to serve the USA what your signing up for.

Ron Paul isn't getting as many questions either but I'd like to hear more from Santorum. We need to have a fair debate, not focus on just two of the four candidates.

People are tired of this political wrestling match between politicians. We know who didn't do what, and who cheated and who didn't. Please, just stand up and tell us what your plan is to fix it and be specific. Take a stand.
