What we're following:
- Thanksgiving travel rises despite higher prices
- Oregon governor bans executions
- Woman named Pakistan envoy to the U.S.
And did you see...
- Yemen's leader to reportedly step down
- Jimmy Fallon apologizes to Michele Bachmann
- President Obama to pardon two turkeys today

Well hopefully Questlove not only thought Jon Corzine was worth endorsing as Gov but he had his money invested in MF Global bahahhaha....... snarky
President Obama pardons two turkeys, obviously John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. Happy
Thanksgiving all!!!!
PS I will not second guess the president, but is it a good idea to pardon them? Just asking!. PK
Maybe President Obama should have stuffed Boehner and McConnell and served the two turkeys
with the yams and mashed potatoes.
As the success of the pledge and the mission to assure the President and the USA fail we look to 2012. Our elected officials will enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas as 99 per cent of Americans suffer. But we know he blame is ours as we are the people who elected representatives. More letters asking the President for help because Americans don't know the President signs bills he was not elected to vote on bills. We watch the World change as Dictators are removed and the people finally can form a Democracy. Americans still march and protest for a perfect Nation much like we started over 200 years ago. American has grown but didn't learn from our mistakes so we will fight to regain our proud country and follow our Constitution. We did learn many adults and officials have no idea how a bill becomes law but our young people do. We agree to disagree and crimes are plenty but we will take back our country. What a year as three Dictators have been removed from office and the future is up to the people of those countries. We saw the current candidates looking to be President don't know much but will tell each group exactly what they want to hear. No one knows the future and the present is stalled/blocked for the rest of 2011 and the pass can't be changed.
I enjoyed reading the comments and giving my opinion. That's what makes our country so great. I am blessed with things that have no value and good health/loving family/kids that put up with me and getting to meet so many wonderful people during my long vacations. I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks for letting me be a part of your life.
have a great day my friends
Dr. Faustus will be on Meet The Press with David Gregory and I hope to see it. Jackie.
Best, Phyllis
A Happy Thanksgiving to Brian and his family, to all the people who bring us Nightly News and their families, and to all the folks who read and post to this blog -- especially the "Usual Suspects".
Take care all-
Celine
I am glad that Jimmy Fallon apologized to Michele Bachman and Happy Thanksgiving to the both of them, and
all, because as Dr. Phil says this Holiday is no time to resolve issues, and he is right. Blessings, Phyllis
With so many Law Makers showing so much disrespect for woman and now this. I'm glad Fallon apologized to Bachmann but I notice Bachmann didn't see any problems with the disrespect shown to Hillary Clinton or her daughter nor does Bachmann see any problem with the disrespect and insults said to our First Lady. We watched live and Rep. McHenry was so rude and disrespectful it shocked everyone when he attacked Elizabeth Warren yet not a word from Michele Bachmann. I expect more women will be attacked but not a GOP female or the wife of one.
We saw more people today as we served Thanksgiving meals. The Good news is the elected corrupt law makers had a great Thanksgiving and will have a great Christmas with their families. Even more Americans will suffer because of the signed pledge and no bills will be voted on to help with Jobs or the economy. Americans don't see this as a problem as the GOP says it's all Obama's fault but he doesn't get to vote. As long as Americans don't know that the plan works. I spoke to a lady who said she was told the President didn't pass the Jobs Bill and he voted against the debt deal. It was like teaching a class. A President doesn't vote he only signs bills. He is available to help both parties come to an agreement but has no vote. I saw her the GOP House/Congress/Senate member who signed the pledge not to let the Economy recover. The list was shown on 60 minutes interview with the boss Grover Norquist. We saw all our California GOP elected Law Makers signed it. Our Congressman Ken Calvert was on the list but just drove by and would stop to answer the question why he is against the people and signed that pledge. Most Americans don't even know the name of the Representative or Senator that serves them and speaks for them in DC. Ignorance allows others to do what they want and it seems to be working as we hear law makers call for the end of the education department and as Newt said bring back child labor laws.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving to all
I agree with Michele Bachmann that the NBC's President, and not the VP, should have apologized to her; it was
unacceptable. but she graciously accepted the vice president's apology. One offensive profanity
against her was an offense to all women, which includes you and me, and the President of NBC
should man up and apologize to her. Just my opinion. Best, Phyllis
And Jackie you are right: He should apologize to Secretary of State Hilliary Clinton and her daughter
and to the First Lady as well and then he would be covered. Men cannot save face. PK
Gosh it's only New Yorkers. Did anyone really expect better of them? bahahahhahaaha
Dave, you were not included with such men because you have it altogether but as former Pres. George W. Bush
once said, "namecalling is counterproductive. As for me, I have it altogether but I forgot where
I put it. Have a nice evening. Phyllis
Jackie, the more I think about it, Fallon shoud have been fired and then an apology forthcoming
from NBC's president It was unacceptable, and no two opinions about it. Yeah, it is an insult
to all women, including you and me, and they don't call it the battle of the sexes for nothing.
But totally unacceptable and Fallon should take his fight elsewhere. Have a nice day,
still raining in Louisville. Best,Phyllis
Brian, It's a small world. When we moved in Douglass Hills in 1973 on our daughter's birthday, the
young lady who lived next door on the cul-de-sac had a brother who was a bodyguard to Mayor Daley.
I hated to hear of his wife's death. BTW I still have a copy of President Obama's Cairo Speech which
called for a new beginning and there is now a new beginning for the Revolution of Change, and it is
what all want, a new beginning. Have a nice weekend. Phyllis
Good Evening Mr.Williams, A fine broadcast this evening as always. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Nice to see you broadcasting this evening. Savannah Guthrie did a great job on the broadcasts Wednesday and Thursday.
First of all the report by Mr.Yang about the "Black Friday" shopping day today and the huge crowds at all the stores early this morning. It is staggering to hear the numbers of people who gathered at the malls and stores at midnight. The stores were jammed with people seeking bargains on all kinds of items and the next four weeks will be crucial to stores making any sort of profit for the holiday season. The lines of people were enormous and one hopes it was worth it for them to be outside in the cold for such a long time.
It is very tragic incidents of violence took place at some stores where people were hurt or robbed outside the store. It is awful people act this way over merchandise on sale because there is no reason to hurt someone over an item in a store. Security certainly had to handle alot of incidents of unruly customers. One hopes everyone can be safe while they shop during the holiday season.
The report by Mr.Mohyeldin from Cairo showed how the people are truly clashing with the military and want immediate change to a civilian government. Seeing hundreds of thousands of protestors gathered in Tahrir Square was incredible. The new Prime Minister speaking to the people did not seem to have changed any minds since most people believe the same problems still exist. Yet, the military wil not give up power. Hopefully, the elections to be held on Monday will bring a positive future for Egypt although the post will not be filled until the middle of 2012. One hopes for peace in the coming days Time will tell.
Nice the know the three American students who had been detained are on their way home.
The piece by Mr.Almaguer about the beagles being rescued from the labratory in Spain was so very touching and moving. All those beagles now free and able to find loving homes is wonderful after they spent so much time in cages. They are so cute and one hopes every one of them finds a loving home. Nice Piece!
The piece by Mr.Almaguer about the family movies showed how there are alot of movies children will want to see this weekend. The movie with the Muppets looks great along with "Happy Feet 2" and others. A fun filled weekend at the movies for families.
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Have a wonderful weekend! Peace to You and to All!
Be Well Everyone! Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard! Excellent Reporting on Wednesday broadcast!
Take Extra,Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

So, at one Walmart a lady pepper sprayed the crowd so she could be one of the first to get that huge screen TV or something, well, Tis the season and Happy Holidays to all.
Brian when you question why we seem to have so many headlines that are pure insanity here's one for he books.
Safeway vs 4 year old Savannah Harp:
“He proceeded to tell them, ‘Your daughter stole and she’s banned from the store, and we’re pressing charges. And she needs to sign this form saying she understands she can’t come into any Safeways,’” Jones recalled. Of course, the little girl can’t read or write, but the guard insisted she scribbled on the paper anyway.
It seems people have decided to copy the US Davis College police using pepper spray .
We did our part today leaving the Black Friday shoppers as we started getting the Christmas gifts for our troops overseas. We know it will be difficult this year as we have added soldiers that have come home. We see countries with such hardships while few recognize the same here in the USA. As we all celebrate this Christmas in a way we can afford I hope we remember to pray that our country go back to the people and give us all the strenght to take it back. For those 2 per cent who will enjoy these Holiday I can only pass a few wise words given to me when I was young. You come in this World with nothing and you leave it with nothing.
The War on Drugs is to profitable to important Americans of all walks of life. This is a topic talked about even before I was born and nothing is done except taxpayers money is spent. Guns are sold to the Mexican Drug Dealers right in Texas and Arizona yet they say they want to end drug smuggling. I remember visiting Harlem in 1963 when my Aunt said kids could buy drugs in front of police but would be questioned if they brought cigarettes. When I worked in the court and I was on call to the police to set bail for anyone arrested, I saw a young white kid buy drugs from a black man on the corner of my home and I called the police but I took the license plate number. After a long wait an officer came took the information and did nothing with it. Yes I questioned the police but they said it wasn't important and had other things to do. I saw things that allow me to understand drugs make to many Americans wealthy to ever seriously stop it.
have a great evening all
Who can afford to celebrate holidays, anymore?
Lester, A terrific broadcast and good news about Morocco. The Moroccoans seem to have handled
their transition very well which, in my opinion, bodes well for the Middle East. My husband is taping
Sunday's Meet the Press for me in case I miss it. Like Hilliary Clinton said, "If you want to be free,
you first must get rid of the snakes in the backyard." which sounds like a plan to me. Have a nice
evening! Oops, good news also about the hospitals, nurses and doctors who need to be held
accountable by patients.
Great Sunday morning as Grover Norquist again put his 236 GOP owned Congress/41 Senators on notice to follow his rule or be removed from office. I know the 6 owned GOP Super Committee members wished Norquist hadn't told the Media/Press three weeks before the end of the meeting what the results would be. 60 Minutes taped Grover Norquist interview three weeks before the announced of the Super Committee decision. Meet the Press interview with Norquist was to put the GOP on notice to as their ordered or else.
Michele Bachmann did accept the apology from the Vice President of NBC and expect the President to make the apology. Bachmann said they wouldn't treat the First Lady like that. She forgot Michele Obama has been attacked/insulted by the GOP, Rush Limbaugh and many GOP supporters even before she became the First Lady and it seems Bachmann had no problem with it. The list of attacks on woman is long as Hillary Clinton, late Elizabeth Edwards, Chelsea Clinton, Michele Obama and kids, Elizabeth Warren, Justices Sotomayor, Kagan and even Ginsburg. The attacks on former Justice Sandra Day O'Connor had to endure so much insults from the GOP just because she was a women. But I notice Michele Bachmann didn't see those insults/attacks on the above woman as doing anything wrong except excusing it as Freedom of Speech. This isn't going to help crazy Bachmann get any women's votes, and using the Fallon case is making her look as stupid as she is.
A student tweets her opinion on a speech given by Governor Brownback and she is told to apologize. In Kansas it's a crime to speak out any dislike about the Governor much like Big Brother. What Brownback's staff forgot is Freedom of Speech/the student is 18 years old/an the invasion of privacy. But like many GOP with thin skin feel they should be loved by all as they continue to destroy our Constitution. The school doesn't have a problem if comments like that are made about the current US President, First Lady or any Democrat/Independent elected officials it's just a crime if done to the GOP. Just think of how lucky this young lady was as if this was said to President Bush or Dick Cheney she would have been arrested and telling her story from jail. Many Americans learned a lesson in during Bush's two terms as once one word of objection to the President/Vice President were visited by the FBI and some who dare say it to either were changed with a crime. Now one tweet from a student who had 60 teen followers now has over 4,000 followers thanks to Gov. Brownback. What's sad is many others have said the same thing and worse you have to love kids and how stupid these elected officials are. Go Emma!!!
A woman who is complicit in her own questionable buzz news is stupid, and Michele Bachmann is a serious,
intelligent woman and that song would make most woman mad. Jane Austen wrote of it in
"Northanger Abbey". And she got it right! PK
