What we're following:
- Teachers and student rescued from the rubble 3 days after the Turkey quake
- College costs on the rise as states slash budgets
- President Obama to offer student loan relief
And did you see...
- Hurricane Rina strengthens, takes aim for Mexico
- More arrests at 'Occupy' protests
- Amy Winehouse died from too much alcohol

President Obama to offer student loan relief (and AG Jack Conway of Kentucky is
doing his part as well), and that is good, because young men and women who are
not from wealthy homes, will not be bullied into working for minimum wage and
I applaud the president for using the bully pulpit to help the students with their
loans. That said, the alternative would destroy the Middle Class. And it is the
last stand against Monarchy. Jefferson predicted America would eventually
become a Monarchy, and I hope the president proves him wrong. His
critics dismiss him as a Socialist; quite the contrary, President Obama is a diehard
Democrat, and I am warming up to the Democrats. Phyllis Kunz
This is crap. As the song goes, "I never promised you a rose garden." Going to college is like any other risk wherein you pays your money and takes your chances. There are no entitlements guaranteeing a job for a college graduate. To be honest, half of those attending college have no business even being there. I am disgusted with everyone out there playing the victim game. Move home. Get a couple of jobs and pay off the debt and when you actually have a real job then consider a house when you are 35 and have a 25 per cent down payment.
But Jules Verne predicted if America became a Monarchy Great Britian would then
be part of America and rumor has it Queen Elizabeth has sold her pearls.
You never know, quoting former president Bill Clinton.
You monarchy-people have it a$$ backwards as America is a democracy.
People are looking for a change in the system, and I think it will happen. What is
one person's crap is another's catharsis; purgation of the system. I empathize
with those who are victims of circumstance because but for the grace of GOD
go I. Many years ago a neighbor told me that you had to find a place in the system
which irked me no end. What is that tv commerical: If no one challenged the
status quo, the world would still be flat. I beat the system; she, on the other hand,
is now the "victim" in a manner of speaking. As far as I am concerned, she had it
coming. Poetic Justice!!!!
This morning's Louisville Courier Journal addresses the change in the system and
TGIF: "A third Party in 2012" : ......The group's organizers say they understand
that 'to change the system, you have to change it at the level of Congress and
state legislatures..................That start is certain to be an interesting
experience, no matter what happens. But its real potential will come in 2014
and beyond---if it can stay on the ballot and break the two parties' oligopoly in
congressional elections, where the real problem lies.."
Yeah, people are looking for a change in the system, and it will happen. TGIF

And Zoobeasts, never say never. Where have you been? In the Zoo!!!
Good Evening Mr.Williams, A fine broadcast this evening as always.
The report by Mr.Yang really showed how the staggering debt of student loans is causing many college students to question whether they will ever be out of debt and be able to work at a job in their field. Hearing the students speak about the amounts of debt owed it is understandable why they are angry and frustrated. It makes planning for the future extremely hard in terms of buying a home or getting married. It is a terrible economic situation and one hopes things will improve, but it will certainly take some time.
The report by Mr.Almaguer from Oakland, CA told of how things became very chaotic in the streets as protestors clashed with police over being forced to leave the plaza area where they were camped. Many arrests being made in several cities across the nation during these protests. Yet, the message of "Occupy Wall Street" or "Occupy" other cities seems just to be getting bigger every day and even overseas. The message is strong, but one hopes things do calm down and remain peaceful.
The report by Mr.Costello about the airline fare hikes right before the holiday travel season seems not very surprising. Prices for airline tickets anywhere appear always to be rising as the airlines keep making profits over so many fees. Hopefully, prices will come down sometime.
The "Making A Difference" segment by Amy Robach about Sam Fox who walked the Pacific Crest Trail in honor of his mother Lucy stricken with Parkinson's disease and try to raise a quarter of a million dollars was very heartwarming and moving. Very Inspirational Piece!
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!
Be Well Everyone!
Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard!
Take Extra,Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

I think I have bad luck as when I visited the East Coast I brought a earthquake and Hurricane. Just came to Colorado to enjoy a week with my son and you betcha a snow storm. What's funny is I left LA and Obama was just coming in and now he skipped over to Colorado.
I'm glad to see the President take charge as it seems the House/Congress/Senate will do nothing until election day 2012. At lease the GOP is honest and said they will pass the transportation bill once the voters elect a new President in office. Voters are being denied the rights in hope enough people don't vote for Obama. Senator Graham wants 7 billion dollars to repair infrusctions in Libya and Egypt. Well nothing for tax payers but it seems our elected officials see no problem giving our tax dollars to foreign countries.
Koch Bros. are upset the Tea Party isn't getting as much attention as the Occupy Wall Street Protesters. Many Republicans are calling the candidates circus clowns and an embarrassment. But someone has to step in because Herman Cain will never be the candidate and there are the religious groups having a problem with Mitt.
see you different time different place
King Obama is on a roll. Who needs congress? $crew the constitution. Higher education costs have increased more since earlier 1980's than any other segment of the US economy and not a word is mentioned about it but all the progressives could complain about was the big increases in health care. Higher education far out paced healthcare thanks to government programs. The libs have to protect the progressive havens called universities run by the dope smoking hippies of the 60's all preaching social justice and wealth distribution and turning out "useful idiots" for OWS.
justBfair if we could only have a do over and never have allow the segregation laws pass and those Civil rights and Voting rights bills. We might still have people where they belong and in their place. Repeal Woman's Right and as so many of our current Law Makers say keep woman in the kitchen and having kids. Now our hero Strom Thurmond did rape a 16 year old black maid but that was legal. We saw many leaders who raped children but that to was legal. America takes pride in the fact we executed a 14 year old child even knowing he was innocent but a Judge/Prosecutor didn't want to admit the arrest and charge was wrong. Ya those days are gone and now with all people having rights and the middle class getting larger, it's messing up things. I remember the hateful words spoken by some evil people, but my Grandmother said we should pray they learn the word of God, but it seems many haven't yet.
Keep living in the past.
This is not a new issue. The large student loan debt started with Gen Xers. Reality check - I graduated in 1990 with $38,000 in student loan debt into an economy and area where if you made $30,000 a year, you were doing exceptionally well. I added additional student loan debt for graduate school. It was a CHOICE. I also worked while in college, I chose which school to go to, and at 43, am still paying for those choices - big deal. When I graduated, I couldn't find a teaching job so I worked in a box factory. I didn't sit at home complaining about how unfair life is - I did what I had to do and it only motivated me to keep trying - I will tell you, standing on your feet on cement 12 hours a day, stuffing cottong into jewelry boxes is NOT a dream job, but it was a way to support myself and so I did it. And I would do it again if I needed to.
This idea that education is a civil right and should be given to us is ridiculous. Higher education is NOT an entitlement.
Don't let the cement dry or you will be stuck forever, and that's not good. This was my
astrology advice months ago, which was good advice, and I am passing it on to you I am a Libra. My daughter Lesley belongs to Generation X; her sign
is Cancer Lesley doesn't want advice from me but it doesn't stop me:o)
wheeleigh, about don't let the cement dry or you will be stuck forever reminds of the finanical genius Maddoff
who was "stuck" according to his wife. The story aired on another network Sunday Have a nice evening!!!
