Steve Jobs changed the World and just think he was an adopted child. He lived in an open middle class community and even got invited to sleep in Lincoln's bedroom. Many leave this World with few to remember them but Jobs leaves with billions all over the world using the device he invented. What dreams a child has and what will they do in their life time. Few knew Mr. Jobs was a Buddhist and will have that kind of funeral for all the nuts looking to protest.
As President Obama pushing forward for jobs and the recover economy, the GOP Leadership pushing back to make sure that doesn't happen. President Obama will have a hard time as the people support the GOP policies to wait 13 months until a new President takes office. Alabama has thousands of immigrants leaving the State with their new Law. Many of those jobs for little pay can now be done by the college student and other Americans for the same pay.
The Wall Street protest groups are starting out like the Tea Party movement accept this group isn't allowing Corporations or the Koch Bros to take over. Thomas Jefferson said if the people didn't pay attention the Banks would try to take over the country, boy was he right. Now the GOP has to do the spin/propaganda to fool the people. It seems more Americans are paying attention and even getting educated in US economy.
Everyone is guessing what the US Supreme will do with the Health Care Bill. Well it seems Justice Scalia has pretty much let his supporters know his frame of mine on the topic. Justice Scalia laughs off the tenther view of the Constitution and supporting the Social Security/Medicaid Acts. Not good news for those looking to end Health Care and Social Security. Looks like Justice Scalia will take so much from the Tea Party but he's not willing to lose his job for them.
rian Williams on NBC Nightly News regarding Steve Jobs:
"He built a $300B company from scratch which is why today he is being remembered all over the world..."
Really Brian! Does it always come down to money? How pathetic. I am sure not a single person remembers Steve Jobs because he built a $300B company. They remember him because he invented products they use every day. Products thatchanged the way we live our lives. The way we communicate with each other. The way we see the world. The way we create. The way we work. Ultimately the way society looks and functions!
Steve Jobs himself never gave a damn about the money.
Yea he did it all by himself. The thousands of other people who actually created the product and technology didn't matter at all. Then lets look at the profits 6.9 billion a year and the company is worth 300 billion? Damn thats great if your a moron.
Lets look at some mineral companies. 150 billion stock, 22 billion a year profit . Damn look at that. A return on profit of more then 10%. YOu dont think that apple is alittle over priced?
I find it funny that the same people who hate capitalism and corporate America loved Steve Jobs. He was part of corporate America! I quess capitalism is ok when it makes the toys one likes.
Good Evening Mr.Williams, a fine broadcast this evening as always. Steve Jobs truly made an impact on the world in the way we all communicate with eachother. He changed our lives in so many ways and the way we do business. A true visionary and entrepreneur. So very sad he has passed away at only 56yrs old. Ones thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
The piece by Mr.Lewis showed how Steve Jobs created so many technological things that helped us live our lives better. From the Macintosh computer, IPOD, IPHONE and IPAD along with work in the film industry in Pixar. It is amazing and incredible the ideas and work this man has created in the technological world. Hearing his commecement address at Stanford University from 2005 was inspirational and moving. The words are timless and resonate to all of us.
The piece by Anne Thompson about the tributes to Steve Jobs from Times Square to Tokyo revealed the huge global impact. His products being used everywhere in business and personal lives. Even in space by astronauts to communicate to earth. Not many people have that much of an effect on the world, but Mr.Jobs was one of them.
The interview you had with him in 2006 Mr.Williams showed how humbling and not spoke of himself very often. Always moving on to create the next wonderful thing to improve our lives in communication and music. Looking to the future all the time. It was interesting to hear him talk about his work, but also how he valued family as the most important thing in life.
Nice photo of Representative Gabrielle Giffords attending the Navy retirement ceremony for her husband. Seeing her smiling is wonderful.
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!
Regarding the prostate cancer story by Nancy Snyderman, I guess you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t these days regarding preventative tests. I for one don’t believe in having all those pre cancer tests because I know I’ll never allow myself to go thru chemo having seen too many people go thru it and still die. Dr.’s these days are talking out of both sides of their mouths recently more than ever. Brings to mind a few weeks ago when Kara Kennedy passed, her brother said one Dr. told her that her condition was inoperable but another Dr. told her it wasn’t and did her surgery, and we all know money was no issue at all regarding her health care.
wow, crazy in the neighborhood tonight. 9-10 gunshots across the street from me about an hour and a half ago. i looked out the east window, no one on the trailer park street, must have been from the city street side. lots of cop cars and a firetruck out there for over an hour. nobody hurt, thank goodness. they did run a yellow tape across the trailer lot and the driveway. my young highschool neighbor 3 trailers down called to make sure i was okay.
thank you, phyllis, on thursday, i went in to DMV, dept of motor vehicles, to get a duplicate vehicle registration, i did everything by mail for the original and must have thrown it out with the junk mail by big mistake. my ticket number at dmv was j666. and i got a horrible head cold, which is why i do everything by mail, i always get sick from dmv since i have low immune system. could have done it at home but i broke my printer. and i torqued an old lower back injury thursday night, so i am a crip, one half hour at a time, here, i'm sure that was you when you fell. so, between cold and my back, last night was very surreal. my neighbor whose trailer got shot at works at olive garden, i'll have to ask him what was up!!! waiting for my little high school neighbor 3 trailers down to bring me the dozen tamales i ordered, that her mom is making tomorrow. i am celebrating 'indigenous people day' because of all of the indigenous women that christopher columbus used to give his lieutenants to rape and the poor indians that they tossed to their dogs as dog food. ugh. the americas were probably in a parallel universe. i imagine that's where hawaii was, too, good ole cpt. cook. i sent an email to al gore once, when he was v.p. with a very interesting poem that i had channelled and the vision i had at the same time of yet another new large landmass in the pacific ocean west of hawaii. it makes you wonder what is and isn't real . . . . . or, when does it become real? best, anna martina

Yea I remmeber Steve jobs walking around with other CEOs and singing under the stars in wall street and eating roasted marsh mellows. ( sarcasm).
It didnt happen that way. Wall street is full of crooks. Just look at up. Whistle blower on SEC .
Yea Wall street sold fraud and blew away 850 billion in 401ks. The government bails them out? Did apple get bailed out?

One blogger on another thread commented on the new feisty style of President
Obama. Actually, I think the president is fed up with this do nothing Congress
and who can blame him! They should be run out of town! Obama is not
over reacting!
Brian, a terrific article in this morning's Louisville Courier Journal, "Panel Aims
to Curb Prostate Blood Test," and I agree 100% the exam leads to too much
unnecessary anxiety. Have a nice day, and TGIF ( one blogger on another
thread coined: Thank God I'm fabulous; very clever) Phyllis
Hmmmmm, not throwing the baby out with the bath water, but now I wonder
if it was necessary for my husband who was in awesome health or should have
asked for a second opinion, the female doctor just being out of medical school. PK,.

Be safe, anna martina, and you will be in my thoughts. Phyllis
