The UN is finally bringing Hosni to Justice and let's hope the UN can bring other War Crimes who torture/kidnapped/raped/murdered/assassinated innocent men/woman/children.
Many are attacking the President for his support of the Muslim religious holiday, but no one dare say a word to the President who started it.
President Obama will hold his first White House dinner celebrating the Muslim holiday of Ramadan on Tuesday night as part of his effort to rebuild American relations with the Islamic world after years of strain.
The dinner follows in the tradition of former President George W. Bush, who held eight Ramadan dinners in office to stress that America’s war with violent extremists was not a war with Islam. Despite that outreach, Mr. Bush became a polarizing figure to many Muslims, in large part because of the Iraq war and his staWithunch support for Israel.
With the fight over the debt ceiling and the promise it will happen again it's on to see what else can destroy President Obama. Just once it would be nice to see elected Law Makers work in the best interest of the people.
Happy big 50 to the President but he doesn't look old enough to be 50. I hope he takes time to enjoy his day with his family and take time to smile and know many people are thankful for his hard work.
The last time the FAA was messed up was when President Reagan was in office. Now it seems it's the second go round with current Law Makers.
see you same time same place
let's hope the UN can bring other War Crimes who torture/kidnapped/raped/murdered/assassinated innocent men/woman/children.
So you're tired of Obama too huh? Looks like you got a problem with Clinton too. There might be hope for you yet. Was it Italy or Spain that has the whacka doodle Lawyer or Judge that wants Obama hauled off to the ICC for war crimes? I can't keep track of you one world communist oppressors
Right Dave I watched Fox News and now believe the word of the fruit loops that 2001 it was President Obama who ordered the invasion of Iraq and do all those War Crimes committed from 2001 to 2009. I worked in the legal profession for 25 years and it one will be interesting if anyone does bring the USA up on charges of War Crimes. Now the World sees the fairy tale stories told by many in the US and even Rev. Huckabee has a children's video with the spin on 9/11. But the rest of the World isn't sipping the US kool aid and those lies wont cut it. The US has lost a great deal and I don't think it will ever get that respect and trust back. We teach our kids to take responsibility and tell the truth well it seems adults don't deal with that anymore.
Your package on foodstamps in Alabama, was Correct in the Numbers of People but, WRONG in the Reason. You Stated it was BECAUSE of the "Tuscaloosa" Tornado.
PLEASE! On 27 April, 2011, Tuscaloosa had a Single EF-5. To hear you, that was the ONLY Tornado to hit Alabama. However, in fact, 225 Tornados hit Alabama, with Four (4) EF-5's hit North of Cullman. There WHOLE Townships Disappeared in seconds.
Yet ALL you show is Tuscaloosa & Birmingham. I was awakend, in Huntsville, at 0545 by the Wail of Sirens and, heard them All Day, until the TVA Power went out at 1808, for 5 days. (Coverage of that, from you, was Dark TOO)
It is no wonder that 1 in 3 are on Foodstamps, since 45 of 63 Counties have been Declared FEMA Relief Areas. Tuscaloosa looks bad, yes. The High School I graduated from is gone. However an hour's drive North of Tuscaloosa, Hackleburg (Home of Sonny James) was Completely Swept from the Earth. Have you mentioned them, or ANYTHING North of Cullman, NO.
I suppose it is far easier to pick and choose your coverage. So Tuscaloosa & Joplin become Sound Bites for NBC News/Al Roker & those suffering from Mississippi to well inside Georgia must suffer alone without your Chosen Coverage.
Fair yes, Balanced Absolutely NOT.
Brian, How about some truth in the reporting of the FAA mess. CR passed the House to continue its operation. Hangup is in the Senate. Senate democrats want to maintain the subsidies to small airports that may carry half dozen people per flight. They prefer to keep pushing us over the cliff on spending. Tuesday, Harry Reid was prepared to pass it until the union got to him and said NO!. Provision in the bill only makes the organizing activities to organize even between the union and management. Thing is, unions do not like things even. Rules must be stacked in their favor or they would never win a vote.
Couple suggestions for the "SUPER COMMITTEE".
1. Eliminate the IRS and replace the tax system with the Fair Tax(a consuption tax).
2. Eliminate the Department of Energy. What have they done for us?
3. Eliminate the Department of Education. What have they done for us. Test scores show nothing!
This would be a good start. They need to put 12 average Americans on this committee and something would get done. 12 hand picked from and this will be a real Clusterf— — _.
Just found a new twist to the FAA story. Low and behold, one of the effected airports that would loose a subsidy of $3,720 dollars per passenger just happens to be in Harry Reids state. NOW, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder the change of heart. Harry is just looking out for America. Ha Ha!!
Maybe you could include that in your report tonight.
Any ideaR from Harry Reid is a loser or very bad for our country. So when the Super Congress FAILS they'll probably bump it up to the UN and Arab League. I'm sure our good friends in New York will say if you let this one slide the "crisis" will be over and everything will be alright. bahahhahaha
Reid, Rockefeller, Schumer, and Boxer voted to end this funding last year. Lisa Myers and Brian Williams are so into their liberal bias, that they do not know how to tell the truth.
Jackie and Dave, of interest perhaps, some comments from Cal Thomas in a Louisville Courier-Journal
article, The Clash of Civilizations, by Cal Thomas. "(12/212006) and I quote briefly: "It is one thing
for Bush to say the United States is not at war with Islam, but what if Islam sees itself at war with the
United States, indeed the entire West?.................................One nation can declar war on another, but
can it un-declare war when it adversary has declared war on it?........................I am not optimistic
that the words of Bush (at the UN when he pleaded for understanding & help in freeing people from
oppression in the Middle East) will have much influence (or even be heard) in the part of the world
that demonizes President Bush and calls the United States the Great Satan." I will stop there.
That said, I believe President Bush was right invading Iraq, and I believe President Obama is right
in supporting the Rebels in Libya. As NBC's Richard Engel once said these people in the Middle East
want to move on. If there is no peace in the Middle East soon, when. If not now, when? It is my
fervent prayer, as I told you Dave not too long ago, that I hope the U.N. Meeting in September 2011
is a COme-to-Jesus Meeting, when all the nations come under Christ, and fullfil the prophecy of
Revelation 11. It was FDR's wish to spiritalize the U.N (same thing in my mind) but died before he
could accomplish it. Why not happen in September? Only in New York!!!!! as Brian said this
evening in his broadcast Speaking of Brian, he made the Best Dressed List which does not surprise
me. Anyway, Jackie and Dave, the only reason I am commenting to you is I came across this old isssue
of papers when I was tossing out papers for garbage pickup, not to open a can of worms. Phyllis
We were played and I want our people home now. We don't have enough honorable selfless people to put down the evil a-holes in this country much less the rest of the world. Besides these a-holes are trying to crash this country on purpose and bring chaos. Our military needs to be here to take care of their own families and if they have any time and sympathy for our dumb asses maybe us too.
Good Evening Mr.Williams. A fine broadcast this evening as always.
The report by Lisa Myers about the thousands of FAA workers being laid off due to Congress showed how the disagreement within the parties affect so many people and hurt the economy. Congress members need to return to Capital Hill and resolve this dispute and put these FAA workers back to work. This indecision causes thousands of people to have to struggle to pay bills and put food on the table for their families. Halting all these airline projects hurts people and the economy. One hopes something can be done to resolve this issue.
The report by Mr.Fletcher about Mubarek in court showed how a dictator can fall far. Seeing the image of Mubarek on a hospital gurney in a cage along with his two sons answering fo his terrible crimes was disturbing and shocking. Mubarek ordered the killing of so many demonstrators during the uprisings in February and that was horrible. Hearing from the family members of those who were killed was heartbreaking. So very tragic. Mubarek needs to answer for his crimes and it is horrible to hear him deny the charges. One hopes justice is served. While sending a message to many other dictators in the region.
The report by Kate Snow from Dadaab, Kenya on the horrific famine in the region showed so many refugees struggling to survive after escaping from the areas now controlled by militants. It was heatbreaking to hear the experiences of what happened to one family before they left their home. Having lost everything these people desperately need help and one hopes all the supplies from the UN agencies can make it to the camps.
On another note it is good to know the peacock is safely back at the Central Park Zoo.
Sad to learn the tree from the "Shawshank Redemption" film has been damaged by a storm.
Nice piece by Anne Thompson about the construction worker who sings during his lunchtime while bringing smiles to many people! He has alot of fans! Keep up the great singing!
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!
Be Well Everyone!
Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard!
Take Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

Every time Brian Williams reads or introduces a story on Nightly News, every viewer should ask, "What is Brian promoting?" Because inevitably, it's likely that he's promoting something. Sometimes, it's obvious what he's promoting. Brian spent all of last week rabidly plugging his "Dateline: Inside Congress" special (which earned a lower rating than a rerun of "America's Funniest Home Videos"). He frequently reads press releases--and pretends that they're news--announcing the latest innovation from McDonald's, Walmart, Kraft, Heinz, Frito-Lay and many other of NBC's biggest sponsors. He likes showing us two- or three-minute "news stories" about products that advertise heavily on NBC (Chrysler, United Airlines, Bayer products, Cheerios). There was his 90-second interview with Sally Field (from 5/14/10) whose only topic was her Boniva ads. And who can forget the 2:05 story on Pringles that aired on April 6. And of course, Brian constantly shows promotional clips from NBC shows like "Saturday Night Live", "30 Rock" and "The Office". There is never a legitimate reason to show these clips--they are either shoehorned into an existing story that does not benefit in any way from the clips or else an entire news story is created to justify showing the gratuitous clip. For example, last Sept. 1, Brian reported a 45-second story about office gossip just so that he could include 17 seconds of clips from "The Office". Obviously, Brian only reported the story because it allowed him to show the clips. And don't get me started on the unbelievably excessive amount of time that Brian devotes to shamelessly and overtly promoting the NFL and the Olympics in faux "news stories" whose only purpose is to promote NBC Sports.
But sometimes Brian promotes things in a more subtle and sly manner. On Monday, he told us that Daniel Tiger, a character from the classic PBS series "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood", would be getting a spin-off show on the PBS Kids Network. PBS Kids has a sister network called PBS Kids Sprout. PBS Kids Sprout is partly owned by Comcast, the majority owner of NBC. PBS Kids and PBS Kids Sprout are very similar in name, theme and programming. So promoting one is akin to promoting the other. I think it's safe to say that at some point, Daniel Tiger will show up on PBS Kids Sprout. So obviously, the only reason Brian chose to read this story was because it allowed him to promote a Comcast NBC property. That's Brian Williams. That's how he rolls. It's not a stretch to say that most stories that appear after Nightly News's first commercial break are intended to promote something. And the stories that are not meant to promote are meant to increase the show's rating by pandering to the audience. This includes "Making A Difference". There has never been a single MAD segment that has contained even a tiny bit of news. Yet they appear two, three or even four times a week. These segments are aired solely to appeal to the viewers and get them to tune in to the broadcast over and over again. Other segments meant to pander to the viewers are the frequent YouTube videos of puppies, kittens or other animals; heart-tugging stories about sick children; and of course the non-stop litany of celebrity and entertainment-related stories. On Wednesday, Nightly News aired a 2:10 story about a singing New York City construction worker. Really. I'm not joking. Brian Williams should be sued for journalistic malpractice. The FCC should revoke NBC's right to air a nightly newscast.
Brian Williams's main goals as Nightly News anchor are to promote himself, promote his broadcast, promote his sponsors, promote NBC's sports and entertainment shows and to boost his ratings by pandering to his viewers. (Higher ratings equals higher ad revenue.) So whenever Brian reads a news story, please take a moment to ask yourself, "I wonder what he's promoting now." Because the chances are pretty good that he's promoting something.
