Window on the White House

I found this in the window of the jewelry store downstairs in 30 Rock. I can't help but wonder: Does the White House know the President's wristwatch (it is indeed among the watches he has worn in recent years) is being promoted as such? Just asking!

We hope you can join us tonight.

Interesting as for a man who is reportedly disliked by so many we see everything he wears, eats and even playing golf is famous. Speaker Boehner had been asking for years to play golf with the President and finally he got invited and the smile on his face was priceless. Some dude even promoted a jacket the President wore in Egypt. Kids get to call their Mom's while setting in the car with the President. For a man called so unpopular makes you wonder why so many are rushing to get to him.

Interesting day in Iowa with President Obama, Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin buying for the Media headlines. Two very popular candidate and the President. Bristol Palin spoke about how Mom knows what she will do. With Sarah's mentor Rev. Franklin Graham working for votes in Los Angeles as she speaks to the large Hispanic voters and the Gay voters. It could help cut those votes to Obama. Bachmann has already expressed her interest for the minorities as she announce Obama didn't give jobs to Blacks and Hispanics but if elected she would get jobs for those Americans and she even congratulated NY gay marriage at lease for the gay votes.

With the new Georgia immigration bill passed farmers are losing billions and crops are dying because their is no one to pick the crops. Food prices will go up with the lost of supplies. South Carolina Governor Haley is signing the same Bill in her State. Several Republican Governors have done the same and as farmers lose money and their farms we will see higher prices and shortages.

Woman are losing rights and it will get worse. We've heard cuts in every need for woman and even children. Some States are making abortions of any kind a crime, which will lead back to our pass. Woman had to go to back allies for wire hanger abortions. Wealthy woman and teens went overseas for save abortions under a doctors care.

Good news on the job front as Banks are hiring thousands in jobs overseas with the bailout money taxpayers gave them in the bailout. The majority GOP told Obama and the American people if we didn't drop all criminal charges for crimes committed by Banks and gave the Banks freely open deregulation to do what they wanted they would take their business overseas. Yes the four major Banks Chase, BOA, Wells Fargo and Goldman Sachs will continue to take US money but not create jobs or hire people in the USA until Americans give them what they want. Speaker Boehner promised if voters gave the GOP the majority in the House/Congress they would make sure jobs were created well now he says it's Obama's fault and if Americans elect a Republican/Tea Party President, jobs will be created.

One of our bloggers made a good point as a Tea Party candidate is left out of the converstion of candidates. Herman Cain is running on the Republican/Tea Party ticket representing the Tea Party views. He had a bump in the road in NH when full time staffers quit but he will recover as others have done. He took on a good topic of wages. Mr. Cain feels the Government should not be involved in salary rates and Corporations should set their on wages. Michele Bachmann also feels the same way.

I listen to the report on Airport security and the words common sense was used. Well let's look at our leaders and our representatives with little to no common sense and it's clear why the rest of the country is in trouble. Most of the qualifiedpeople with common sense aren't hired and your left with what you see. The public makes these actions public by notifying the Media and then it changes. Brian just remember the terrorist that bombed 9/11 walked in and out without a problem and the over reaction is a joke. Profiling is what some think should be done but many forget the blond/blue eyes you look over could be the real enemy.

see you same time same place

I hope the TSA Agent who found it necessary to check that woman’s adult diaper found a nice little surprise waiting just for them.

Since you mentioned it on the broadcast, I guess it can be kinda disappointing to find out that The Pope stole your idea for your first tweet, so I guess that means sometime before Twitter becomes outdated you will actually Tweet something.

Good Evening Mr.Williams, Another fine broadcast this evening as always. It is interesting how the President's wristwatch is being promoted in the jewelry. One does wonder if the White House knows about it. Always something to strike interest in people.

Now on to the broadcast. First of all the report by Janet Shamlian about the terrible fires getting closer to the city of Los Alamos and the nuclear facility. Hearing the flames have spread and surrounded the labratory does raise alot of concern and many people living in shelters should be alarmed. It is hard to know how long they will have to reside in the shelters, but one hopes the flames are quelled as soon as possible so that people can return to their homes safely. A tenses situation.

The report by Lisa Myers told of many questions as to how safe is the nuclear facility if the drums of nuclear waste and storage areas of plutonium are damaged. The officials state everything is safe and secure, but it does cause much caution and concern on the minds of many people.

On another note it is terrible to learn of a suicide bombing at a hotel in Kabul. Hearing from Mr.Udden that flames can be seen from the hotel sounded horrible. As daybreak comes the official damage will be seen. It is tragic these constant attacks.

The piece about the TSA and the two men speaking about the security procedures showed how common sense and judgment needs to be taken into account when screening passengers. One can agree certain measures have to be taken and there does need to be a security check, but some of the checking has gone too far and even though the TSA screeners are well trained in their job which is difficult during these times. There has to be respect on both sides with the passenger and the screener in order that everyone arrives at their desitination safely. Common sense and respect must be the norm.

Nice to know that Pope Benedict XVI has joined twitter and sent out his first tweet!

Also, it was great to see the first baby koala born in captivity! Very Cute!

The "Making A Difference" segment by Mara Schiavocampo about the "Girls on the Run" program was very nice and helps so many preteen girls in life!

Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!

            Be Well Everyone!

Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard!

Take Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

It's interesting how deeply embedded gender prejudice is in our society. In a broadcast with a well meaning segment on improving the self concept of young girls, we also hear the term "IT guy" in another segment on the Pope's tweet... Just noticing.

The pressure is on for that first tweet now! I say go with one about your awesome grey sweatpants. Sure to be a winner!

I finally got around to clicking the link on that Whitney Houston article, and almost spit out my beverage onto my iPad. It was worth reading to the end.
Speaking of iPads, I did, of course, download the Nightly News app as soon as I got the thing up and running (an awesome birthday gift given to me by my awesome husband last week). Just one complaint though: The ability to post comments here could be a little easier. It took me a while to figure out I had to switch to XHTML mode to get a comment to post, but then I have to use actual HTML for line breaks and such. It's just not very mobile-friendly for being attached to a mobile app. Don't even get me started on trying to post from my smartphone.

I have a feeling he's already tweeting with his friends and family, under some obscure name like "Mildred" or something.

Brian: I believe the biggest story as of now is the chaos in Athens, Greece. Parliament passed the so called austerity measures, which I'm sure the protestors will love. If you think the protestors were angry before the measure was passed, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Athens had no choice in the action they took, becaues this is the only way to receive funds to wipe out their dept. Serious ramifications would have occurred, and still might. The action will hopefully prevent a global catastrophe. I do understand where the demonstrations are coming from. Jobs will be cut, layoffs will happen, and other undesirable events will occur, but Greece must build a stable economy, and this is the only way to get it off the ground.

What is Obama's watch doimg in a jewelry store in 30 rock? You need to due a story on that one. It peaks my interest. I'll catch you on tonight's broadcast.
