Please explain why the press, democrats, Congress and the country gave Bill Clinton a pass for his sexual behavior and then come down on Weiner like the wrath of Moses on his first trip down the mountain. I do not understand. Oh yeah...perhaps, I get it!!! I am so ashamed that I once called myself a democrat.

I think that the elected officials are more upset that he lied and not about what he did. I think all elected officials are given rules to follow once they are sworn in and one of them is it is mandatory to lie to the public. I don't think there is one politician out there that is 100% honest and trustworthy. If they let Charlie Rangel get away with tax evasion and other federal crimes then why harass Rep. #### to this extent is beyond comprehension

Just an example of how low and misguided America has come in such a short time.

Senator Vitters hired prostitutes/ used campaign money and Mark Foley never charged with sex texting kids and molesting them for years. Yes Republicans have showed us all the Christian Values we should follow and even Democrats go along with it until they get caught. Cheers came from the room of law makers when Senator Vitters returned as many said Job well done. Who knows it was so easy for Senator Vitters he might be still hiring prostitutes as now he knows all he has to say is he's sorry and laugh again. Foley will be back to business as he knows the names of others who are currently in office doing the same thing.

What chance do our kids have and why is the porn industry still making big profits? Every adult holds a shield of being perfect but behind that door are the Weiners of America. You hold Weiner up as a bad example of sex texting to other adults, his photos were more then we see on the beach or in Larry Flints books. Playboy is very profitable but who's buying. This is a political move and has nothing to do with morals. A man who doesn't admire a sexy woman is either a liar or dead. A woman who doesn't admire a good looking man is just lying.

great report on education yesterday but to bad our Law Makers will cut/end education funding as each Republican Governor is doing in their State. Smart move for the take over by keeping people stupid and disenfranchising voters. This is what happens when a great country falls as greed, evil and lies have brought down more powerful countries then the USA.

Brian: You should definitely be more aware of the use of the english language. Tonight, during your intro into the Rep. Weiner fiasco, you inferred that he was a VICTIM. While you probably meant he was a victim of our shared electronic world, he should, in no way, be portrayed as a VICTIM. The young recipients of his pornographic messages are the VICTIMS. He is just a dirty, sleazy, oily guy who was given the public trust and should be ostracized by everyone, including the media.

What Anthony Weiner did ethically is wrong; what he did politically is stupid; what he did morally is, unfortunately, fairly common.

Politicians are people too. I don't think that anyone would've approved of Thomas Jefferson bedding his African American slaves, but . . . pre-Twitter, Facebook and cell phones, it was easier to be discreet.

Mr. Williams, I adore you and your newscast. WE don't watch anyone else ( except Jon Stewart occasionally). But it put me off when you proclaimed what a 'media circus' the entire mess had become, and then proceeded to report on it in all it's (yawn) somewhat smarmy detail.

Social media ( as a non Facebook and Twitter person the term mystifies me) was the cause ( instrument) of Mr. Weiner's ill-chosen actions; You ( the media) Mr. Williams are the effect. Start to have a better effect on all of us and report the NEWS ( there was no mention on your broadcast of Mitt Romney-the millionaire--declaring today that he was "unemployed" on a campaign tour)

Brian, TGIF, and the Anthony Weiner mess is over. What a clown, and, yes, he does belong in

the circus. Have a nice day! Phyllis

Reflecting on the media storm, the following thoughts come to mind:

              BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER

Does this phrase strike you as an old maxim, out of touch with today’s society? Or, does it inspire you to think of a better world?

What does criticism really accomplish? Inspire another person (performer, athlete, student, business professional) to reach for a higher standard? Increase their sense of self confidence?

What do all of the other forms of “bad behavior” really accomplish? Provide a momentary high, followed by a
downward spiral of shame and recrimination?

If we’re interested in improving society for ourselves, each other, our children, and grandchildren, we need to stop and think about our own behavior. Our world has a myriad of problems, and being kind to one another isn’t going to deliver world peace.

But a word of encouragement or a small act of kindness might just be the spark to motivate another person to try harder, and that will be good.

              Be kind to one another.

Yes, I think Ellen Degenerous of NBC fame coined: Be Kind to one another. I may have her last

name wrong, but I am not a fan. To each his own!
