And now for something completely different

It was British comedy that gave us the phrase in the headline above. Fitting, considering this: After a tumultuous day of birther developments, a rearrangement of the National Security strata, more violent weather and all kinds of other developments, we now get to turn at least some of our attention to a purely happy event in London. Let's hope it’s a safe one.

We hope you can join us for tonight's broadcast.

Brian – Needless to say I’m sure you’ve been following all this nonsense about Obama being an American citizen, since I’ve read articles written by both black and white columnists regarding this issue, they all agree that the real reason some people are harping on that one subject is they’re not comfortable having a Black man as President of the United States. If and when this issue is laid to rest, just wonder what’s the next issue they’ll be picking on him about. I’ve heard Trump mention that Obama’s grades in college weren’t that great, I think he better retract that statement, because all he has to do is look at the grades of our last President before Obama.

and how qualified was ronald reagan to be president? his iran-contra debaucle was really an impeachable event, but congress was being kind. cheney/bush are guilty of war crimes. on another note, i ordered a small bottle of jasmine perfume from garnet hill today that are flowers from egypt/india. i will put a bit of it on the main altar in my little house. i wonder if the spirit of anwar sadat will rise from the jasmine flowers from egypt. they sure could use his spirit in egypt right now! and, of course, with india, you have to think of mahatma ghandi. when i think of barack obama, i seem him in the company of great leaders of the world. petraeus sounds great for the cia. i'm sure he knows where lots of bones are buried. when our soldiers come back, i'm sure they bump into stuff like jon voigt's movie, 'deliverance'. not okay. those are the types i envision now asking about barack obama's grades. it's a shame that today's debates in america have to be phrased in 3rd-grade level english. those were the people who understood george w. bush and couldn't understand al gore. al gore would never have declared war on iraq. i am glad that our troops there will be coming home. i hope that the families of the soldiers who were killed there are taken care of. afghanistan, likewise. we sure don't need to send soldiers to libya. i do question the motives of the english and the french, they do have a bad reputation/history for colonizing africa. those people need to find their native leaders. during a presidential campaign, you find out who's who within the citizenry of the country. and that's always good to know. best, anna martina

just wanted to let you know i thought it was funny but some will take it seriously that you called obamas birth certificate a gift certificate on your broadcast on the 27th of april

One good thing about Obama releasing the certificate at this late date is we all know which leading Republican presidential candidates are on which side of the issue.

The bad thing is that the non-believers will claim the documents section of the CIA, headed by Democrat Leon Panetta, created the certificate. They will point to the appointment of Panetta to head Defense as his reward for the certificate.

Brian the comedy show for the World to watch is how disrespectful Americans and candidates/law makers are to the President of the United States. Not one US President has been asked to show his birth certificate. Now the GOP/Tea Party have moved on to request the Presidents grades in college. Now most seating Law Makers from wealthy families brought their degrees and seeing the House/Congress/Senate had to have the Constitution read to them like children clears up their not well educated. But not one person dare ask any President even former President Bush who clearly had a problem with the English language, to show his grades in school. Many remember the movie about George W. Bush called W. Where it was explained that Daddy Bush has to get his son in college. This topic will only open the door to how many current uneducated people we have in Government and other major careers.

A fellow blogger above name Shirley W1 cleared up what the real problem is and that is something some Americans just can't deal with no matter what.

I'm looking forward to Wills/Kate's wedding and let's hope with so much happiness the World forgets for a wild how stupid America has become.

I beg you, Brian, to please stop with all the coverage of the wedding. There is so much here that merits one of the 20 minutes devoted to national news, yet you are giving a couple of those minutes every night for the last couple weeks to something happening on the other side of the ocean to two people who have no relationship to the US at all. You could argue that this is what the public wants, but then you are reacting as a marketing organization, not a news organization.

I expect more from you (and ABC and CBS news, too, for that matter). I don't know why, but I do.

Good Evening Mr.Williams, A fine broadcast this evening as always. Wonderful to see Richard on the broadcast as always!

First of all the report Mr.Miklaszewski on the change in command with Leon Panetta the new Secretary of Defense beginning on July 1st and General David Petraeus the new Director of the CIA starting in September. Mr.Panetta replacing Defense Secretary Robert Gates will have to handle major issues of the War in Afghanistan, the Drawdown of Troops in Iraq and the Budget Battles of Capital Hill. He has much experience with being Director of the CIA and this will help in this position. Yet, all are tough situations and issues and one hopes good decisions are made in the future. General Petraeus now going to be the new Director of the CIA certainly has incredible experience and knowledge being the Top Commander of Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is terribly tragic to learn today of nine Americans killed in Afghanistan, eight military and one civilian. Ones thoughts and prayers go out to all the families.

Richard's report from Benghazi concerning the dangerous situation in Syria showed awful images of people being attacked by government forces. The President sending tanks and armed soldiers into cities to attacke protestors is horrible and there are no signs he is going to cease any of his actions. The region closed off makes it difficult to get a full picture of what is happening, yet hearing from one human rights activist the region having no power, food or water shows the government is not going to allow oppostion to take over. The worst atrocities in the region since 1982 when thousands were killed in a violent revolts. One hopes peace comes soon.

Good to see and know Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is travelling to Florida to see her husband Capt.Mark Kelly and crew liftoff in the Space Shuttle Endeavor on Friday. She is truly making incredible progress.

Nice to see all the preparations being done for the Royal Wedding on Friday. All the military, bands, security making sure everything goes well for the big day.

The piece by Kate Snow about Bucklebury, Kate Middleton's hometown was really sweet and showed how very proud the people of the town about their own resident getting married to Prince William. A great celebration!

Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!

                Be Well Everyone!

Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard! Excellent Reporting as Always!

Take Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

                Lisa
