Now that an entire American generation has been raised on webcams, the grandmother of them all is back: Puppy Cam, the one so many of us became so heavily addicted to so many years ago.
Its mom's third and final litter (click below to watch), and it’s some of the best television out there. At one point this afternoon, every member of my family and half of our newsroom was watching this afternoon. Warning: its highly addictive. There's a good chance if you start watching today, you'll keep watching until Thanksgiving.
Have a great weekend, and we hope you can join us tonight.

Brian great video but just a request from a friend. Try showing some cats for the cat lovers like me.
We'll be watching tonight as usual and make me look good. Don't wear strips with print, just a reminder smile
Entertainment at it's best. Thanks for this, enjoyed by all. Have a good weekend.
Good Evening Mr.Williams, Another fine broadcast this evening as always! Cute video of those puppies again! Always love watching them! Agree with Jackie too about seeing some kitties every once and a while for cat lovers! :)
Now on to the broadcast! Always wonderful to see Richard on the broadcast this evening! Much turmoil in the Middle East region especially in Syria today. The report by Andrea Mitchell showed how Syria simply erupted in terrible violence with the government forces opening fire on the protestors. It was so tragic a young boy was shot by forces because the children are innocent victims in the chaos. Scenes of deadly gunfire towards protestors who did not provoke the attacks. The people of these regions are not afraid to stand up for what they believe anymore and the result could mean a ruler may be forced to step down.
Richard's report from Benghazi showed how Senator McCain's visit to the region was certainly a surprise to the people. As Richard stated it was unexpected and the people seemed pleased with Senator McCain's message. His believe that Qadhafi must leave office resonated well along with the issue of a stalemate leading to more violence. Chaiman of the Joint Chiefs Admiral Mullen stated there has been no decision to arm the rebels. The message from McCain was truly poplular with the people of Benghazi. One hopes for a peaceful end.
The piece by Mr.Maceda about Lt.Colonel Johnny Davis was very moving and emotional. Lt. Colonel Davis cares so deeply for his fellow soldiers and is a "father figure" to them while being a husband and father of five children back at home. Hearing him speak about the soldier who was lost was heartbreaking and touching. It was wonderful to see and hear him call home and speak to his wife and kids as well as call annd offer support to soldiers suffering from injuries back home. Always there to lend encouragment to others. He serves his country bravely and is a true hero to everyone. I'm glad he is able to enjoy the twinkies morning and evening. Tasty treats!
The "Making A Difference" segment concerning Ted Danson and his environmental book "Oceana'' showed how urgent to need to help make fishing in the oceans better and rebound the fish populations. Mr.Danson is bringing to the forefront a problem that needs to be addressed and can be resolved. Making the oceans better for fish and fishermen.
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams! Have a wonderful weekend! Happy Easter to You and Your Family! Peace to You and to All!
Be Well Everyone!
Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard! Excellent Reporting As Always!
Take Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!
Lisa
i hope some of our soldiers who were exemplary humanitarians in the field consider going into state government or the house of representatives. our government system could use a good shot in the arm! best, anna martina
If we really wanted to "destroy our enemies" we'd bring our military home and drop our parasitic ruling class in the middle of Afghanistan.
amen to that . . . . . of course, that's exactly why they blew up 9/11, our parasitic ruling class was already there after their oil. cheney probably thought he would be emperor.
Brian,
Thanks for the Puppy Cam & Eagle Nest Websites. Addicted to both.
Have a good Weekend.
Brian Williams must think that his viewers aren't all that perceptive. On Tuesday's broadcast, the lead story was a five-minute piece about Donald Trump. On network newscasts, a three-minute story is considered long. A four-minute story is extremely long. And a five-minute story is the news equivalent of "War and Peace". Why did Nightly News devote so much time to a story about Donald Trump, someone who has the same credibility as Paris Hilton or a Kardashian? The answer is obvious. Brian and his producers were promoting Trump's NBC show "Celebrity Apprentice". Brian tried to sell it as a political story in which Michael Isikoff was fact-checking Trump and asking "hard-hitting questions", but it was just a promotional piece. Trump may be popular, but he isn't well-liked. So a "news story" that purports to challenge him isn't going to discourage viewers from watching "Celebrity Apprentice". In fact, just the opposite. The more unsavory Trump appears to be, the more likely people are to watch his show. No one watches "Celebrity Apprentice" because they think Donald Trump is nice or handsome. They watch because they think he's a weasel. Trump is a prime illustration of the axiom "There's no such thing as bad publicity". And Nightly News certainly gives him plenty of publicity. This is the fourth Nightly News story in two weeks to feature Trump. Of course, this is nothing new for Nightly News. One of the main reasons the broadcast exists is to promote NBC entertainment shows. Brian and his producers regularly insert clips of "30 Rock", "The Office", "Saturday Night Live" and "Law & Order" (as well as clips from Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon and other NBC shows) into "news stories" for the sole purpose of promoting those shows. He even shows clips from old NBC shows (like "Seinfeld", "Murphy Brown" and "Cheers") in order to boost NBC Universal's DVD sales. In the past year, Nightly News has shown SNL clips at least fourteen times. Of course, these NBC clips have nothing to do with any actual news--they are simply inserted gratuitously for promotional purposes. Case in point: Last July 27, a "30 Rock" clip of Alec Baldwin screaming about bedbugs was included in a news story about bedbugs. The clip did not offer any additional insight into the story, it was just a way to squeeze in a promo for an NBC show. Sometimes, the stories are invented just to create a reason to show a promo clip. Last June 18, Lester Holt read a story about the 30th anniversary of the first "Blues Brothers" movie. The "Blues Brothers" films are owned by Universal, so the story was contrived in order to sell DVDs. (There is also a Blues Brothers attraction at Universal Studios in Orlando, so the story was also intended to promote that.) Would Nightly News have ever aired this story if "The Blues Brothers" films were from a studio other than Universal? Of course not. Last Sept. 1, Brian read a 45-second "news story" about office gossip just so that he could show a 17-second clip from "The Office". On March 1, a story about the pay gap between men and women included a gratuitous "30 Rock" clip for no reason other than to promote the show. This is what Brian does. This is how he operates. Nightly News is a promotional vehicle meant to generate ratings for NBC's entertainment shows. On Friday night, Brian conducted a three-and-a-half minute "interview" with Ted Danson in order to sell "Cheers" DVDs for NBC Universal. Danson has been on a lot of TV shows over the years (most recently on FX and HBO), but the only Danson clips Brian showed were from "Cheers". What a surprise. So does anyone really believe that Tuesday's five-minute mega-story on Donald Trump was shown for any reason other than to promote "Celebrity Apprentice"? If you believe that, there's a bridge over the East River that I'd like to sell you.
But the Trump story wasn't the only waste of time on Nightly News this week. We also saw three stories (totalling more than ten minutes) on U.S military personnel who were "Far From Home". These pointless stories had no news value and did not belong on a newscast. They were just part of Brian's ongoing effort to use his broadcast as the propaganda arm of the U.S. military. In his intros to these stories, Brian described each of the profiled service members as heroes. That was hilarious because on Monday, Brian had described Anne Thompson as a hero for her coverage of the BP Gulf oil spill. So clearly, the word "hero" has no value coming from Brian. Apparently, Brian considers everyone a hero. His dry cleaner is a hero for getting out that tough stain. His driver is a hero for getting him to the theater on time. His shoe repair guy is a hero for replacing a worn heel. Everyone's a hero to Brian. Military members, Anne Thompson, Bono, Derek Jeter, Brian's garbage man--all heroes. Kind of takes the importance out of the word.
What the heck is going on in Libya? I don't mean the fighting, I mean the name changes. On Tuesday, a Nightly News map of Libya showed the city of "Misrata". On Wednesday, a Nightly News map of Libya showed the city of "Misurata". What happened--did Brian buy a vowel from Pat Sajak overnight?
Here's a story you won't see on Nightly News: Early Friday, a man died after being tasered by off-duty police officers at Universal Studios Orlando. Is that part of the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter attraction? Maybe they would have been better off subduing the man with Harry's wand instead of using lethal tasers.
Finally, I have to congratulate Brian. He ended Thursday's story about Will & Kate's wedding invitations by saying, "It's kind of like the Olive Garden--'When you're here, you're family'." There's nothing like using a Royal Wedding to plug a sub-mediocre American restaurant chain. Since Olive Garden is an NBC advertiser, I'm just wondering how much they paid for the privilege of getting a prime plug from Brian Williams on Nightly News. I'm guessing that Brian eats free at Olive Garden for the rest of his life. Real smooth, Brian.
Ouch. I treated my husband to the Olive Garden on his birthday but I must say the dinnner was excellent.
So maybe it's you:o) Happy Easter to you and all. Phyllis
you obviously haven't had their chianti braised short ribs with mushroom risotto. the risotto was to die for. i had to have something different because i had just made grilled marinated chicken shish-ke-babs which i tossed with fettucine in a homemade alfredo sauce with steamed broccoli. yum. i stewed down some large chuck roast cubes with a ton of garlic and kosher salt the other night, i had tomatoes from last year's crop that i cut in half, brushed with olive oil, dusted with kosher salt and pepper and roasted for 45 minutes in the freezer that i defrosted and sliced up and tossed over corkscrew pasta with a ton of fresh spinach that cooked down added frozen peas and another homemade batch of alfredo sauce. i added some mushroom pasta sauce out of a jar to give it just a bit more color. so, now i just have to learn how to make risotto and i'm set in my little kitchen. so , i may be poverty level, but i eat well because i cook:-) i was reading about nikita krushev's life and the hungarian revolt the other night and with the beef, it made me think of hungarian goulash or beef stroganoff. best, anna martina
Americans have forgotten 2006 and 2008 as gas prices went so high and it was blamed first on Iraq. Bush promised with the invasion of Iraq, America could get low gas prices. That trick worked well. Then at the blink of an eye again the gas prices got high, as the Oil Companies got history making profits. Still Americans had no were to turn as the Vice President was a former Oil Company CEO. To end the out cry for help, President Bush invited his friend the Saudi King to Crawford Ranch to beg for an increase in oil production. Well even after bowing and kissing the Saudi Kings ring finger, Bush was denied his request. Well President Bush was even surprised by the out cry from Americans about gas prices as he said he never really got gas and never looked as he was driven. Bush has servants to drive and do daily duties most Americans do themselves. Now Republicans will spin the story and ask voters to vote a Republican in office to get lower gas prices. The trick worked before it just might work again. The Donald announced he would steal Middle East Oil and have no problem doing it. Yes we saw Bush beg his friend the King, lie about Iraq and now The Donald will out right steal in the name of the United States of America. As announced the Oil Company will get even higher profits and if Americans don't put a Republican/Tea Party President in office the American will see prices as high as 10 dollars a gallon until our backs are broken. Each President for over 60 years has warned of getting off of oil dependence. Each President got no help from the paid Law Makers. Now we see that mistake and the Oil Monster owns America.
Many have wondered how the Tea Party got gobbled up by the Koch Bros. and how the take over by Corporations was done. Today the Cable station showed the South Carolina Tea Party with speeches from Michele Bachmann and Governor Haley. Citizens are so brainwashed by Fox news most of those interview depend on Federal Programs but have no idea they fighting to end them. One lady sells cans and lives off of SSI and Medicaid but supports people like Trump and other wing nuts because they clap for her when she says she collects cans for a living. So sad. The people interview have no understanding of how the Government works and signs carried have many misspelled works. Smart move by the GOP to end the Department of Education, that way the dumb Americans will out number the educated ones. Gov. Haley is an example to Christians as a woman who worships two Gods. Haley worships God and India God Guru Gobind Singh, as she is accepted as she followers the orders of those who put her in office.
my sleep is all over the board, not getting to sleep until 8 a.m. the other night and then 10 a.m. this morning. like i said, my poor cats are like, 'what gives, we're VERY tired, mom . . . .' i did manage to do a fair amount of house cleaning those two nights, so at least i was productive, a very rare thing. it must be why my dreams are all over the board. i even had a dream that the donald was a secret advisor to enron! i can't help thinking that the donald in the whitehouse scenario would really have us wondering where the money went! his reasoning would probably be better in his pocket than that of the corrupt politicians in iraq and afghanistan. i hope our troops come home from iraq on time and i hope the pull-out in afghanistan starts timely. i sure hope we don't do ground troops in libya. and richard's comment that some think the army withdrew only to return in civilian clothes brings back images of vietnam and guerilla warfare, very deadly. robin williams' movie, 'good morning, vietnam'. i wish the bernie madoff and other investment bankers hadn't shut down some of the hollywood types that were doing charitable work. maybe that was a direct target since poverty level can be used as a powerful energy vortex for those that deal in the occult, ugh. but they were really starting to make a difference on that poverty level line with their various projects. a thought about ted danson's book about the oceans. i'm especially thinking of the blue tuna in the seas off japan. maybe fish can sense when a platonic plate is getting ready to sub-duct, apparently, there's alot of pressure on alot of those plates where nuclear power plants have been built along the coast, and the fish choose to avoid those waters. maybe they might even go into a parallel universe that has friendlier plate tectonics going on. i don't know, truth is stranger than fiction. those tsunamis kill tons of fish, i'm sure, if they're unlucky enough to be around at the time. the animal kingdom has sensors that are way beyond our human comprehension. humans probably do, too, but we are TOO BUSY and NOT LISTENING. happy spring, everyone. best, anna martina
Good Report from Richard Engel on the Today Show Saturday, and I hope the Rebels succeed because if
successful the balance of power will be shifted in the Middle East and a real chance for peace in this world will
happen. This is one of the great revolutions. Sen. John McCain made the case for giving weapons to
the Rebels which sounds like a plan to me, but I agree with him, the Rebels, and President Obama about
no troops on the ground. Happy Easter all. Phyllis Kunz
Brian: I experienced a great adventure yesterday. I was at 30 Rock, touring the NBC studios. I saw the Dr. Oz set, the Saturday Night set and some other interesting operations. The tour guides were informative and pleasant. We didn't see your broadcast center, even though it was suppossed to be included. I had breakfast at the Rock Cafe, and recommend it to tourists. Yes, people are still ice skating out in the rink, even though heavy showers were prevalent throughout the day. As many times as I have been to New York, I have never seen such crowds. At times I had to pause walking, because of the hordes. I'm sure Easter weekend was a probable cause. Still, New York is an adventure! To all tourists: If you plan to visit Manhattan, take the NBC tour. It will be worth your while.
Now that I am back in my country solitude, watching the video of the puppies added to my joy. It's nice to see mother nature taking its course. I'll catch you on Monday nights broadcast.
The chart showing Obama's falling approval rating crossing with the rise in gas prices looks just like the chart of the rise in gas prices and the fall of the dollar. So gosh what ya think the price of gas (snicker snicker) is going to do when China dumps 2 trillion dollars of our debt? Geee when did it get to 3.1 trillion? Seems only a few years ago it was ONLY 900 billion.
Thanks for spotlighting the Shiba Inu Puppycam. Please note that the Mama dog's name is KIKA . . not Kiko. Also, the reporter stated that "someone is making money from greeting cards, mouse pads, and calendars". Any money that is earned from the sale of those items is donated to Shiba Inu rescue. I have been watching the cam from Illinois and have been a part of their message board since the first litter was born, and can only confirm to you that the anonymous couple who generously share their canine family is truly not self-serving. They always state that "it's all about the pups" and consistently demonstrate that fact ever since they began airing their webcam in 2008. They are very concerned how dogs are bred and placed and care deeply about rescuing more unfortunate animals. Thanks again for giving others the opportunity to view these sweet dogs by airing their story.
