The news you won't hear tonight

Found: An unnamed female cobra who went missing last week at the Bronx Zoo was discovered in good condition on Thursday morning.

I don't know if we're going to have the time or inclination to tell our viewers across the nation: 1) They captured the snake that was on the loose after escaping from the Bronx Zoo 2) Prince William will not wear a wedding band as a married man (though when you think about it, it’s not like he can slink around the bar at the Airport Sheraton pretending to be single) 3) Oprah's offer to give Donald Trump a makeover is truly intriguing. If they could do something about the hair, she could cap off a brilliant career with the thanks of a grateful nation. 4) The Yankees won and looked good doing it. 5) We hosted a dozen West Point Cadets today. All sparkling young people, all incredibly impressive, all of them will graduate this coming fall. We host a group of Cadets every year, and it’s always a good day when they visit. It makes me feel great about our country's future, and of course we'll be thinking of them and praying for them as they get their assignments and deployments in the U.S. Army as newly minted Second Lieutenants.

For all the news we plan on broadcasting to a national audience tonight: You'll just have to join us.

(Editor's Note: OK, so maybe we couldn't help ourselves with the snake. Or with Prince Williams' ban on the wedding band. In the end those stories were too good to leave out...)

I'm glad they caught the snake. Even though I'm in Seattle, 2,000 miles away, it still made me nervous knowing it was loose out there.

        Hi Brian!

Love to hear about the group of Cadets that visited this year, hate to hear that I missed the Yankees win while I was home under the weather today. How did I miss that!? Thanks for the post, and see you in five!

Brian, Thanks for the continuing coverage on Lybia and Japan. My husband's cousin studied in England when

he was in college and years later when he married he chose to not wear a wedding band. Of course, he is

not Royalty but some in the family did wonder. Just a preference , in my opinion. Phyllis

Good Evening Mr.Williams, Another fine broadcast this evening as always! Always wonderful to see Richard on the broadcast!

Good to know the snake has been found. Having the Cadets come to visit must have been really great. All such honorable men and women. One hopes they all remain safe in their deployments. We keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Now on to the broadcast. First of all the report by Mr.Costello about the trace amounts of radiation having been found in milk within several States. It does cause much concern among people even though the officials state the levels are truly minute. It was interesting to see how many States have picked up trace levels of radiation from the Westcoast all the way to the Eastcoast. Yet, hopefully, the levels will remain very, very low and not cause any harm to people here in the United States.

The report by Mr.Cowan from Japan told of how the high levels of radiation found make the evacuation zone much larger. How far away is safe from the radiation? That is the question many people in the region need to understand since the answers keep changing. It is interesting how the government is making no plans to widen the evacuation zone. It was tragic and sad to hear how bodies cannot be rcovered from the evacuation zone due to high radiation levels. So extremely sad and heartbreaking. Ones thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of the region.

Richard's report from Benghazi told of how the rebels are taking stand against Gadhafi forces without any air support. The rebels trying hard to fire mortars and rockets against Gadhafi forces and sometimes missing the target completely. As Richard showed the rocket firing way off target which is due to the rebels lack of trianing in being able to work these weapons. It was encouraging to see them bringing in reinforcements and having new weapons aboard the trucks. Yet, they need so much training and help in their fight is it majorly difficult for them. With the defection of the Chief Foreign Minister to the United Kingdom it could cause more defections to happen and the outcome could be a power shift. He is speaking with officials so perhaps some progress could be made to end the conflict. Time will tell.

On a weather note the forecast of snow, wind and rain for the Northeast is terrible and truly not Springtime weather. Hearing about snowfall in some of the New England States certainly does not sound like Spring. One hopes it passes quickly and things turn to nicer and warmer weather.

The "Making A Difference" segment by Mr.Tibbles from Chicago about the choir was very heartwarming and inspirational. All those young people singing together was so nice and meeting new friends. Appreciating people from the inside out. Nice Piece!

Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!

              Be Well Everyone!

Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard! Excellent Reporting as Always! Great job on MSNBC Special the last few nights! And looking forward to seeing the special program on MSNBC again tonight!

Congratulations Richard on winning the David Bloom Award! You are the BEST!! Courageous and Dedicated! Truly Deserving!

David Bloom was a wonderful reporter, husband and father. We miss him greatly.

Take Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

Brian when you think you've seen everything you get to see another shocker. Martha Stewart was convicted on inside trading and Mr. Sokol is never charged with doing the same thing. But Warren Buffett got a pass during the Hearings with the Banks/Corporations when he was reluctant to appear to testify. But now the World and everyone in Business got to see Warren Buffett is the Wall Street Gordon Gekko and GREED IS GOOD. Buffett knew what the rules were but ignored them so his friend Mr. Sokol made a big profit of 3 million dollars.

I expect Bernie Madoff is rushing his appeals to the court as we see Bank CEO's and other Businessman committ worse crimes then Bernie but the aren't prosecuted. The US Banks/Corporations are the Mafia and feeding of the people and taxpayers dollars.

LA reported the Nixon Library is opening with the Watergate event. Interesting how it's made to almost look like Nixon was innocent and the story and crisis wasn't that big at all. Time does things as soon Watergate will be made to look like a total misunderstanding. Living history is one you can't forget or be fooled.

                have a great evening all

Jackie, I, like his family, did not think former President Nixon should have stepped down and I respect

Diane Sawyer for helping him with his memoirs. I support all presidents unless proven otherwise because

I do believe there is a plot to weaken the presidency as it is America's role to execute justice, not

justus, in this world. Some comments on AOL bordered on treason until a stop was put to it, thank

God. That said, I do not understand why goody-two shoes are the only ones elected to Office. I am

speaking for myself and not We The People, but America now at this odd moment in history needs

robutness of our leaders. Have a nice weekend and I love exchanging ideas with you and I do wish

your daughter Peaches would write an article for Newsvine. Again, have a nice weekend. Phyllis

Dave if in the end I "get screwed" will I still be respected in the morning?:o) Whatever, metaphorically

speaking, what a thrill that would, be so I hope what you said proves to be prophetic lol . Phyllis

Brian Williams cracks me up. I truly YEARN to hear him deliver his punch lines like the one about the Airport Radisson and Prince William with such a straight face. I love your interviews, love your news, but especially love those funny lines. And I love when you wish me good night. You're the best!
