I don't understand this endorsement of old light bulbs by Brian Williams.
With problems in the oil-producing countries, energy is going to become more expensive, no?
Why would you promote a wasteful product like an incandescent light bulb? It takes 4 times the energy for the same amount of light.
A bipartisan congress and a Republican president agreed that it was a wise decision to discontinue the old light bulbs. It is pretty rare that Republicans and Democrats agree on anything. But now we're to think of them as the "light bulb Police?"
The Easy Bake oven? This isn't even a story because the Easy Bake oven has found a way to continue cooking cakes. So what's going on?
Why don't you do the American people a favor and let us know how the new light bulbs will cut our electricity bills?
I saw your TV show (news?) earlier in the week when you blamed congress for closing down a light bulb factory. The law hasn't gone into effect yet. How can the new law be responsible for the factory closure?
Does this have something to do with GE? I love GE. I own stock in GE. But GE can make LEDs or other light bulbs that don't burn up so much energy.
Please stop the propaganda!! It's unbecoming of a great and old institution...You're better than that. Aren't you?
Brian, I can't figure out where to contact you to say this, so here goes at this spot on your blog. When I get home in time to see the Nightly News, I am always pleased. Since right after 9/11, I had been living with my sweet little Mama--widows, it seemed like the best thing to do to both of us. We moved from Jackson, Mississippi, to Portland, Oregon, in June 2006 and continued to watch Nightly News. On Friday, January 7, I came home from work to find that Mama had gone to her bed to take a nap at some point after 2 p.m. when I had talked to her on the phone and passed away. Now I don't have her to greet me as I come home every day, but I do still have you, Brian, to say, "Good night" to me each week day. Thank you, Brian.
Olga I was touched by your story and sorry to hear your Mother is gone home. But like alot of us on this blog site we are family and even when we agree to disagree we are still the Nightly News Family. Brian has brought so many people together with his website to share their thoughts, ideas, opinions and even just have a place to read about what others are thinking. Please continue to join us and you do have friends on this site that will be watching Brian and the staff. Please continue give us your opinions it really helps all of us. Take care and keep blogging

Regarding the Democrats in Wisconsin I was wondering why their fellow Democrats in DC are still kowtowing to their Republican counterparts?
The people are fighting back against what they perceive as unfair legislation while, at the same time, Democrats in DC are preparing to capitulate to the GOP agenda.
Are the Democrats in DC so out of touch with the events on the street or what?
Isn't it time for the Democratic leadership to take notice and press forward? The people are speaking/yelling. Democratic leaders - listen.
They're known as Fleebaggers now, not democrats.
Fire up the hearings Issa!!! follow the money
A brilliant article onLine: OPINION; Gunboat Diplomanc y Needed with Libya Here's a good "Jeopardy"
question. The first line of the Marine Corps Hymn..................but what's the second line. "to the
shores of Tripoli." I recommend all read it. It's a solution. Phyllis Kunz
I find it pretty funny that even with this recall order out, I'm still seeing Toyota ads claiming 'Toyotas are the #1 selling car in the country, and also boasting about their safety record' It's almost as ridiculous as our former leader and his 'the right hand(holding up his left)doesn't know what the left hand(holding up his right)is doing!
I agree with your comments about Toyota but disagree with your comments about the former president
and we will have to agree to disagree and, anyway, it would be a boring world if we all thought alike.
Yeah we sure end up with some real Morons for Presidents. What about the one we have now claiming we have 57 states or needing George Stephanopoulos to remind him he's suppose to be a Christian and not a Muslim. This country sucks. bahahahahaha
Sorry Dave I don't follow you on your trashtalk about Obama....true, he's not been the president I thought he'd be, and he probably won't see a second term, but he is, at least as far as I'm concerned, a HELLUVA lot better president than Bush Jr in SO many ways!
Thanks for the reply though
Trash talk? So what's ok for you to do is not ok for me? That's why I can't stand you leftist.
You must stay in a bubble where you don't hear about his massive verbal goof ups. Both of those things happened. I'm sure if you google or bing (pick your favorite evil corporation in bed with the World Socialist movement hehee ) it and you can find sources you trust to read about both of them.
Dave: This country sucks? Do you think this is a banana republic? Just asking!!! Phyllis
That is very true Phyllis....we can't all agree on everything, otherwise this world would be a boring place to live! Thanks for the reply!
No 'bubble'...just something called REALITY! Have a good evening Dave!
