Brian talks Egypt on 'The Daily Show'

Brian, you went to Cairo and Jon Stewart went on vacation. That's suspicious. "Now we will see what

happens next.":o) A good interview, seriously. Phyllis

Brian: The flames of revolution continue to spread across the Middle East, but this just the beginning! Two governments have fallen thus far, but now we are watching Libya, Yemen, and Bahrain. I'm looking forward to Richard Engle's report from Bahrain tonight. The people and protestors in that country are facing insurmountable odds from the dictatorial regime. This human nuclear reaction has no end in sight. When have we ever witnessed Libya's Kadafi being burned in effigy? These history making events are unfolding before us every day, and the NBC news team relays the information like no other network can. As I said before, a human nuclear chain reaction is spreading across one of the hotbeds of the world. Events are changing swiftly, but when will the chain end? Stay tuned to NBC News for all the latest, all you bloggers. I'll catch you on tonight's broadcast.

Good Evening Mr.Williams, A fine broadcast this evening. Enjoyed seeing you on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart"! You are always a great guest on the show!

Now on to the broadcast. Richard now reporting from Bahrain where there was a frightening crackdown on protestors by the police overnight. The killing of two protestors caused the protestors to have a "sit in" at Pearl Square. Beginning quietly with families, women and children then having the riot police come in around 3am with tear gas, clubs and buck shots certainly caused people to be frightened and try to flee the square. It was tragic to learn of some being hurt in the stampede of people leaving the area. Interesting how the government of the region was giving a different version of events and State Tv showing how the police were injured along with weapons found with the protestors. The Shiite population stating they are being treated like second class citizens is certainly one reason for the uprising since the government is Sunni. The United States Fifth Fleet stationed in the region for protection could have a role in calming the situation. Only time will tell. So much chaos happening in the Middle East with revolts in Libya and Yemen too. A wave of revolution all across the region.

      Excellent Reporting As Always Richard!

Hearing from Dallas Green, the grandfather of Christina Taylor Green was heartbreaking and touching. Everything he stated about her told of what a wonderful little girl she was in life and it is so sad and tragic she was lost at only 9yrs old. I agree with him in that i din't understand either why this happened. Thoughts and prayers go out to her whole family.

It was nice to learn of Gabrielle Giffords remarkable progress and learning how she is reacting and answering questions. Encourging news.

Good to know Lara Logan is recovering well after her horrific attack in Cairo.

The report by Stephanie Gosk told of how women in the region felt equal during the 18 days of revolution, yet equality is remains difficult with many restrictions on women. The country being religous requires women to cover their head along with not being able to make many decisions. It was surprising to see large numbers of women out protesting during the 18 days and for a time they felt equal. The women want the same freedoms as men in the region and hopefully someday they will have those freedoms.

Sad to learn the passing of Bill Monroe of NBC.

And sad to learn of the passing away of Len Lesser who was well known later in life for playing "Uncle Leo" on tv's "Seinfeld" He was truly very funny in that part.

Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Always wonderful to see Richard on the broadcast! Peace to You and to All!

      Be Well Everyone!

Stay Extra,Extra Safe Richard! Always excellent reporting!

Take Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!

My scars are her scars- try to understand. ACTS: 27:15--- The ship was caught by the storm and could not head into the wind; so we gave way to it and were driven along. As we passed to the lee of a small island* cause Cauda, we were hardly able to make the lifeboat secure. When the men had hoisted it aboard, they passed ropes under the ship itself to hold it together*. Fearing that they would run aground on the sandbar of Iris, they lower the sea anchor and let the ship be driven along. We took such a violent battering from the storm then that next day, they began to throw the cargo overboard. On the third day they threw the ships tackle overboard with their own hands (her scars are your scars). (She is a loved woman high is statue to the world) when neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved. It has to be all for one and one for all- she is. Don’t hesitate to tell me what you think- I do listen diligently. tesa

Thanks for the clip but Brian your a brave man as it's more dangerous to go on Jon Stewart/David Letterman shows then going into Cairo. Thanks for the shout out to Brookdale College and yes I did graduate for Brookdale well a long time ago anyway. I like the fact you know the signs without being told it's over time to go. Jon would have really had fun but you beat him to it.

Great interview. Great responses to each other- the interaction between you two is always great. That was a very insightful look into those Egypt protests, and pondering why the US thinks it can be an 'arbitrator' like that.

I also liked the fun elements of that interview- those cool glasses, teasing him about heading for vacation, and the pen thing. And your little grins into Camera Three. It's strange that Jon didn't seem quite as playful, for some reason. Of course there were a lot of important questions about Egypt and the role of reporters, but you guys only get the chance to tease each other, spar, and arm-wrestle every six months! And that's always so much fun to watch! Anyway, great job at the TDS interview, and let's hope there aren't any terrible pieces of news in the next 6 months till the next one! :D You're the best TDS guest ever!

Brian: The videos from Bahrain were hard to watch. Peaceful protestors being shot, the injured in the hospitals. and the gentleman covered with blood were a daunting picture of a regime that doesn't care about the needs of its people. The demonstrations in Egypt pale in comparison to the uprisings in Bahrain. Of course our Richard Engle was on the scene doing what he does best. Are you planning to go that country to join in of first hand accounts? This is another link in the human chain reaction that is zipping through the region. As always NBC News will be on scene to deliver the daily events from this battle bastion.

Dale Earnhart was a real hero in the field of NASCAR!@! His death was a real shock to us all. He personified the attributes of a caring human being off the track. but when he got behind the wheel he truly became the intimidator! He will always be remembered as one of the all time greats in the field of racing.

Yes, it was hard to watch and I dispaired but now there is dialogue. Phyllis Kunz

Brian, Richard Engel, God bless him, said it has never happened before in the Middle East and therefore I

see the Middle East in this prophecy of Isaiah 66: "No one has ever heard of that happening; no one

has ever seen that happen. In the same way no one ever saw a country begin in one day; no one

has ever heard of a new nation beginning in one moment." Phyllis
