Noth Korea better beware of dire consequences if it chooses to attack the South. Doesn't this savage regime realize that the U.S. military, together with South Korea, and other allies can obliterate the North, reducing it to a burned out cinder? The leaders of North Korea understand this scenario rather well. Making antagonistic threats, as they always do, will only lead to an eventual armageddon, not only for them, but for the rest of us!!

Janet Shamlian's warm and compassionate piece about decorating soldiers' homes reminds us of what is good about Christmas in America: complete strangers with resources sharing them with those who need help. Thanks to Janet and NBC News for bringing us this story and the other special Making A Difference reports.

Good Evening Mr.Quintanilla, Nice to see you filling in for Mr.Williams this evening. A fine broadcast as always.

First of all the report by Mr.Almaguer about the weather in California and all the major mudslides caused by all the torrential rains. It was so very sad to see the woman's home completely engulfed inside with mud and that she lost everthing is heartbreaking. All the momentos of pictures, Christmas decorations along with so many other things just lost in the storm damage brings tears. Yet, as she stated they have their lives and that is most important. One hopes they can recover quickly, yet it will take some time.

Hearing about the rescues from the hotel told of some scary moments due to fast moving waters beneath the people. Thanks to experienced people everyone was rescued safely.

The report by Mr.Yang told of how retailers are having a better season this year with consumers much more confident in their spending. It does appear from the numbers people are spending more this year even though this may not long. It is a slow recovery, but right now people are taking advantage of many bargains at stores.

The "Making A Difference" segment by Janet Shamlian about the man with a decorating company who decided to help military families by decorating their homes this Christmas was so heartwarming. It is so very difficult for military families to have a loved one serving overseas during the holidays. Hearing about the one serviceman who is serving in Afghanistan on his sixth deployment showed how this family is enduring another tough time during the holidays. This man with the decorating company sending out volunteers to bring decorations of garlands and lights to these family's homes is wonderful. Bringing such spirit of the season. It was nice to see the family watching on video their loved one overseas sending their love. The true kindness of people shining through this season and always!

Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Quintanilla. Hope You and All the NBC Staff have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Happy Holidays to All! Peace to You and to All!

      Be Well Everyone!
