One topic has consumed our newsroom for much of the afternoon: A big story, just out, about breast cancer. Our correspondent and producers have known about the embargoed story (which is not uncommon when dealing with publications and journals) for several days, and have been reporting on it—and as they got further into it, they discovered more caveats and tangents and opinions than we ever imagined we'd find. We are now deciding how to distill what we've found out in the best possible way for tonight's broadcast.
Additionally, Chuck Todd will be here to debut our new poll numbers and what they might mean for the election 14 days away.
We hope you can join us tonight.

Brian I've heard so much over the many years from what physicians say. I often count the years of eat eggs, don't eat eggs. Everyone is looking for a cure all of something. Well when younger I worked as a nurses aide and learned from watching and talking to people. This brings me to something that has always stuck with me. PHYSICIAN HEAL THYSELF. Yes I seen some of the best doctors question the lost of their patient as what was the reason? One time a doctor lost a young healthy woman and he starting curing at why he didn't save her. Ok I have a big mouth but I God might have wanted her home. He looked at me as if I was crazy. Later the doctor spoke to me and thanked me because we forget their is a higher power then man. I respect physician and medical help but I learned it's my responsiblity to keep healthy and don't believe everything your told do your own homework before making a decision.
Now you understand why I stay your case so much, a person never stops learning.
see you same time same place
hola, jackie, another very interesting article on taliban talks by dexter in the nyt. i agree with 'physician heal thyself'. black cohosh root, which i can't take, darn, because it affects my sleeping me, is good for hot flashes and evening primrose oil is good for 'women's health' as well. i do take that. flax oil has omega-3 fatty acids and is good for your heart and energy level. i am enjoying my new nordic trac elliptical trainer:-) best, anna martina
I've taken bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for over 4 years (I wouldn't take the synthetic monster hormones that were used in the WHI study on a bet) and the improvement in my health is nothing short of astonishing. Within two weeks of starting bioidentical progesterone, my hot flashes disappeared, and I have more energy than at any time in my adult life. The hormone balance cured my seasonal allergies, firbrocystic breast disease, restless leg syndrome, and acid reflux. The small amount of testosterone cream I take daily has helped me build muscle tissue in my back to stabilize orthopedic limitations. My blood work values are excellent, my cholesterol dropped 65 points. My mammograms are clear, and my last DEXA scan showed that not only do I no longer have osteopenia, my bone density is now comfortably in the normal range (without osteoporosis drugs---something else I would refuse to take). I am blessed to have a board certified Internal Medicine specialist/bioidentical hormone replacement therapy specialist in Southern CA who knows that there is a better way for his patients to age with dignity and grace than to medicate them with a handful of prescriptions. We overuse the phrase that something "saves your life" but in this case----bioidentical hormones saved my life without question. Best wishes to all for hormonal health.
Brian - Regarding hormone replacement, I think every women should run this thought through her mind, what did our grandmothers or great-grandmothers or women in the 18th Century and so forth take for symptoms of menopause, needless to say the answer is nothing prescribed (they relied on the roots and herbs from the ground which I think we all need to get back to) and somehow they all survived!
If menopause was so unbearable (I am of “a certain age” so I can speak on this) women would’ve been dying from the symptoms of menopause centuries ago, but we know that is not the case. I know those hot flashes can be unbearable (trust me, I know), but if my grandmother, and her grandmother lived through it, I’m sure women today can do the same, it’s just that we know today that there is a pill available for us to take that will ease the symptoms, but you have to be extremely aware of the side effects.
Sometimes it is not good to fool with mother nature.Maybe working out is not as easy as taking a pill, but will not gave you cancer.

Good Evening Mr.Williams, Another fine broadcast this evening.
First of all the report by Mr.Todd on the newest poll numbers of how voters are thinking before the upcoming Mid-Term election. The numbers reveal voters certainly want change in how the government is doing things in terms of almost doing too much. Many feeling the nation is moving in the wrong direction and the role of government needs to change. Much heavy campaigning in certain States so two weeks from now results will be given by voters. Time will tell.
The report by Mr.Tibbles from Dayton,Ohio showed how voters are unhappy and angry with how the government really isn't helping them especially the small business owners. People are worried for the future for themselves and their children. Things need to change for the better and hopefully it will happen.
Sad to learn the passing away of Tom Bosley at the age of 83yrs old. Remembered greatly for playing "Mr.Cunningham" on the show "Happy Days" He certainly will be missed.
The "Making A Difference" segment by Rehema Ellis about Dr.Gonzales who as the Principal of a school on Texas is helping the students be the best they can be and have a bright future. He was helped by his teachers and coaches when he was in school and it is wonderful how he is passing along that knowledge to these students. They all seem to be doing very well thanks to his help and their dedication to hard work. It is quite inspiring.
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!
Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna,Lori,Cary and Matt!
Be Well Always!

Take Extra Good Care Richard annd Crew!

Brian,
I am proactive and take responsbility for my own health, and it works for me. Three doctors in the
past years have recommended surgery and I passed; one you would not believe. I did have a good
relationship with a doctor who saved me from leg surgery and still wear heals occasionally but
unfortunately he died a year or so ago -- a brilliant man.
Good reporting on the numbers in the midterm election by Chuck Todd.
Rush Limbaugh saying President Obama looks like the devil should look in the mirror. There's an old
saying the devil comes disguised as yourself. Maybe Limbaugh should have a checkup with his
physician. It's crazy talk, in my opinion.
Back to the election and all the anger which is fine if expressed in appropriate ways. It is wild.
Have a nice evening!
Phyllis
Rush's media tweak of the day. heheheh
They left out the part where Rush was wondering how a picture like that got released in the first place. If you google Obama, Halo, Cross you'll see the types of pictures the Pravda media usually releases. BTW that is one contorted facial expression and it does look a little demonic.
I resisted writing last night after the Nightly News, but having just seen the story again on the Today Show, I'm struck at both shows' implication (by omission) that women were all taking hormones to treat hot flashes and other symptoms of menopause. Many of us were put on hormones by our physicians because they were believed to help prevent heart problems--two doctors told me before I even got to menopause that when I reached that stage, I should definitely go on hormones since I already was demonstrating heart symptoms. I would happily have weathered menopause annoyances rather than chance increasing my breast cancer risk, had the medical profession bothered to do the necessary research BEFORE exposing so many women to this possible harm.
Barb your right but remember those are just common things that don't need to be explained. The review and the doctors comments were ok but we should always think of what's in medication that will hurt something else. Hormones are in alot of what we already eat. I just read to much and felt the human body changes were part of how we were made like getting old and going gray. I loved history and always wondered why some people in history lived longer then others. Why some died young. Our bodies talk to us but sometimes we don't listen. I just think we're come to a time that people want a cure all to everything. Believe it or not my sons even read up and talk to me about the changes in woman because one minute I'm burning up the next minute I'm cold. Thank goodness those days are over and now I'm just old.

Brian: Something is always abuzz about breast cancer. The human body is still overall a mystery. Everyday we hear of medical research that disputes prior research. The proper way to treat breast cancer, despite current treatments, will be a iddle for a very long time. It's a very complicated problem, what with millions of different cells, genes, family medical histories and so forth. All we can do now is hope for the best during breast cancer treatment. I'll catch tou on tonight's broadcast.
