Stewart and Colbert are a perfect parody to our Political parties. A slower Progressive whose propped up by a huge support staff and a smarter Progressive pretending he's a conservative. Happy "End up on this Administration's Extremist Watch List Day" otherwise known as Constitution Day.
Good Evening Mr.Williams, Another fine broadcast this Friday evening.
First of all the report by Mr.Costello about the decision by President Obama to give the job of building an agency to fix the troubled economy to Elizabeth Warren. Her statements about simplifying credit card agreements, mortgage loans, and many other things seen very sensible and could really help consumers in making sure they understand everything in the paperwork regarding loans and credit cards. As she stated to you Mr.Williams in making things simplier and holding the consumer to be personally responsible. One hopes she will have much success.
The extreme weather in New York City certainly caused much damage in surrounding areas besides having power out, trees down along with businesses and homes damaged. One hopes people will be able to clean up quickly and power be restored.
The report by Anne Thompson from Venice, LA told of how the well will finally be cemeted shut from the bottom. One hopes it is finally sealed for good. Meanwhile, the fishermen are worried about how their business is affected since much of the waters is closed off and the price for especially shrimp has fallen sharply. Still a worrisome time for residents of the Gulf Coast.
The piece by Mr.Cowan about the 2yr old little boy who wandered away and ending up under water in a irrigation ditch, having his heart stop then by being kept cold was brought back to life was simply heartwarming. The doctors keeping his body temperature cold then gradually raising it truly helped in reviving him. A wonderful little boy! So amazing!
Sad to learn of the passing of Billie Mae Richards the voice of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" in the Christmas Classic.
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Have a wonderful weekend! Peace to You and to All!
Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna,Lori,Cary and Matt!
Be Well Always!
Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard! Hoping you had a wonderful birthday yesterday! Wishing you many, many more wonderful years!
Take Extra Good Care Richard and Crew!
XOXO
Lisa
BP oil well shut for good OR BP should shut up because then they will have nothing to say, as far as I am
concerned.
Who likes storytellers and poets delivering news? The meter (beat) they speak in anymore is hard to listen to. What is the news media trying to do, change how the English language is spoken and alter our thought processes?
I can't quote it verbatim, but spoofing the way Lee Cowan tells the tale of "How Lazarus came back to life", Nightly News, 9-17-19,
This is the story of a boy....
who (folksy uptick in tone)....pause....
like Lazarus....
came back..... (folksy uptick in tone)....pause
.......to l-i-f-e (surprise!)
Why interrupt smooth news putting people on who speak in quirky phraseology? Too many reporters are doing it. I hope never to hear Brian Williams compromise his flawless diction to succumb to this nutty fad that drives the cognitive senses to distraction. I'm already starting to skip the news because I mute the storyteller poets, and because there are too many commercials, by the time I turn my attention back, the news is over.
