Good morning all-
Missed Tuesday's "Nightly News" broadcast (school) but just was able to catch up with "Nightly" web videos. Got a delightful treat- Chevy Chase!! One of the most funniest man-EVER..and yes, that 1983 classic, National Lampoons Vacation -is truly a classic....seen it so many times..and reflecting-- mishaps do happen while on vacation -but so much more for the Griswolds.
I totally love the George Lewis' piece. It will join the other "Nightly" videos/stories ("massive star" " solar flare" "muppets pipe") saved in my video library so to revisit again and again.
"Americans take a whole lot more stuff especially electronics on Summer vacation," noted Brian.
I agree. Saturday, we took the kids to our local Palm Beach County Zoo..and electronic gadgets were everywhere: digital cameras, smart phones, recorders-all capturing the mystery of the animal world.
And as George reported, (regarding The Grand Canyon) our Zoo attendants reminded us to "not disturb the animals!"
I did notice the extreme precaution placed in keeping the animals safe and doing so ensure the safety of Park guests.
Animals are God's wonders-don't annoy or harm them.
PLEASE!!
We learn a lot about the magnificent animals and even more about our Zoo.
Our ride home was all Politics. My Mom was heated. She says she prays for the Clinton days to return. "You put a smart man in the White House, you get SMART results. Anyone who wanted a job during the Clinton era, could walk out of their home and get one!"
Keneisha (my smart pal) says, "People would have been better served if the government used the recovery stimulus to pay down taxpayers' and customers' mortgages."
She added, "Giving a bailout to GREEDY, CORRUPT banks is wrong!"
I sat, tired -and listened. I totally agree.
The banks, Wall Street did wrong -they do not deserve millions of taxpayers' bailout money. Where is the punishment? But, I understand why the bailout is essential.
Three Words: THE GREAT DEPRESSION.
Imagine this!! --- 50 million spent so to be Governor. Is power so great?
My Mom says: "Yes." Read this site election post and I ask: Are elections for sale?
It is all about power. Not about the people.
I must read today's other post: "Check it Free." And must grab a peep at Brian's Daily Show visit. I am guessing -laughs!! Right?
Will do so after my follow up doctor's appointment.
Brian, I had problems with the video with you and Jon Stewart and both of you are laughing out funny.
Must be something in the drinking water in New Jersery. Phyllis
With all the candidates running for office it's clear education is needed in the USA. Most don't even know the US Constitution or any of the History of even why the US was founded as we see Americans are getting their education from idiots like Glenn Beck, O'Reilly and Hannity. To many Americans Obama is talking to the hand as they perfer the Twilight Zone media of Fox Fake News as the largest share holder of Fox Fake News is a Saudi Prince. Wonder how the Prince feels with the Fox host attacking and inciting violence on Muslims.
Rep. Boehner and his fellow Americans are calling for Obama to fire his Economic team and most likely replace them with Bush's Economic team that brought the Recession. I still remember former Goldman Sach CEO turned US Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson announcing " THE END IS NEAR WITHOUT THE BAILOUT". Yes as President Bush spoke of the need to bailout banks or the US would collapse. We learned later from Chase CEO Jamie Diamond it was only for bonuses and Goldman Sachs CEO said he was doing God's work and apologized for stealing. It's clear the Recovery is slowly taking place and Rep. Boehner has to put a stop to it before it's effects are seen by more Americans before the next election. The GOP stalled/blocked as much success as possible and now say it's Obama's fault we haven't recovered from the Recession. What's not a shock is Americans believe the GOP's lies without question. One 70 year old in South Carolina said she wants to end Government programs as DeMint calls for. Yes she said she ony gets a social security check but doesn't realize with the GOP plan her checks would stop. But the SC GOP have an anwer for that to the blame will go to Obama. Evne the Bush tax cuts are supported by Americans who will learn their taxes will increase to cover the lost of money given to the Wealthy. Keeping people stupid pays off in the end.
The United States is becoming the SNL of the World.
