It's Official: Rhinebeck, New York Is Designated A No-fly Zone.

Amid all the rumors about the Clinton wedding this coming weekend, here's another strong bit of evidence: the FAA has posted a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) for the airspace overhead -- due to "VIP's" on the ground. Perhaps including a former President, the current Secretary of State and a wedding party understandably anxious to avoid aerial photography.

So I guess the FAA posting does makes it "official-official". but, it's been "official" for the past three weeks are so, dontcha think ?

I should've said "publicly official" for the last three weeks or so .

I suppose this will cause quite a stir with Rhinebeck residents. Though, not many even have the opportunity to grumble about this kind of thing. Thanks for sharing!

It's a decoy, don't believe it! The real wedding will be held in St. Olaf, FL.

So the fliers at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome will be grounded? What a shame. They provide a greater value to the community.

Totally agree - a shame - I'm sure there are folks that booked vacations months in advance to go see the areodrome fly

King Willie and Queen Hillary: Be gone peasants - you bother us! Oh and for people who don't know it, Rhinebeck, NY, is home to an aerodrome that features vintage aircraft in mock dogfights, etc. Still why should someone be able to make a living when Princess Chelsea is to be married? Why they could invite the entire (American) House of Lords: The Gores of Tennessee, The Kennedy family of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, NY, Maryland and California, The Browns of California, The Bush Family of Texas and Florida, The Udall Family of Colorado and New Mexico, The Bayhs of Indiana, The Murkowskis of Alaska, the Daleys of Chicago, The Cuomos of NY, The Landrieus of Louisiana, and the Longs, The Rockefellers, The Romneys of Michigan and Massachusetts and the Chafees of Rhode Island. We fought a war from 1775 -1783 to free ourselves form Royal rule. Now look where we are again! Land of the Free! What a bad joke! Make way for King Willie. Be gone ye rebels!

Mike, you can always find a way to get rich and join them -- something the peasants of old could never hope to accomplish.

Good grief, Mike!  Chill out--drink a margarita, and mind your own business.  While your are at it, try to make sense.  The Clintons are not a dynasty--not even by the standards you conjure up by citing Bushes, Kennedys, Chafees, etc.  They are flawed, charismatic people who have taken way too much grief for the goldfish bowl-scrutiny we subject people to.   By the way: trivia question--under what recent presidency (of a kid from Arkansas) was the last federal budget surplus?   Huh?   Anybody...anybody?

Unfortunately, the United States has gone from being a Republic of the People, For the People, By the People to being a Hereditary Oligarchy

It's a shame, but that's the way it is - I'll ad some More Names

It's been said elsewhere, but could stand restating: Bill and Hillary Clinton could end world hunger and there are people in this country who would complain that they are contributing to overpopulation.

Do you think that the people in Rhinebeck are going to be more or less pleased that they won't have 15 helicopters buzzing overhead for 5 or 6 hours? I'd bet on more.

Actually, I don't mind Bill/Hill so much - Really - I hated him when he was in office, but 10 years on, I can honestly say he was NOT as bad as some

I'd have the same complaint if it was the Bushes, or whoever - we have become a country of Oligarchs - READ the definition at the link above - we have a ruling class, "the Incumbent Class" who have become, to quote the Who "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"

Just think the Clintons were flat broke and in debt when they left the White House. Ah well always nice to see New Yorkers (hopefully soon to be a "regional party" bahahaha) living high off the slaughtered American hog.

                              Hi Anna, Phyllis, Shirley..
Made it to the Big Apple and will do as Celine suggested....visit museums and take a look at the NBC studios with that tour.. sometime in the early afternoon.. Imagine seeing the sets of "Morning Joe" and Ms. Rachel Maddow..
Read this blog at the NY airport and we both smiled..because we had the visual of seeing Ms Chelsea with the big floppy hat and all visiting the House of Vera Wang. Thank you..Mr. Williams for issuing this late night news blog notifying the family bloggers about the event of the year.
I am wearing a small patch / bandaid on my forehead cuz my godson Jaden went nuts at the airport last night.. and Keneisha and I had silly fun chasing him, thus my booboo.
                              O. Read an article about Chelsea, (People Magazine) and she is known to be a private young lady. Happy to see the Clintons raised her well..thanks Brian for the blog..

                                Brian,

I just read ONLINE that President Obama was not invited to the Chelsea's wedding. He should have been

invited and his choice if he wanted to go or not. Bad decision on the Clinton's part. The president is

                                a class act.

Mimi You will have to tell us all about your New York trip. Have fun.

I enjoy watching the nightly news. I have never come on this site to voice an opinion. Always felt that

there are too many opinions offered. "But"..... after watching tonight's broadcast on Chelsea Clintons

upcoming wedding, - why is it necessary to comment on an expected cost??? It seems that topic has

come up on the NBC morning news several times now along with the evening news. Then to top it off,

after Brian Williams reported the estimated amount, he lets out in a disgusted voice "Only in America"

To me that type of reporting, though NBC may think the wedding cost is news, just starts all the critics, -

Rush L. types, spuing rude, negative, insulting, and hatred remarks. Why can't the Clintons have what

ever wedding they want their daugther to have, without reporting the cost?? It is not anyone's business.

I thought that was in poor taste, and then throwing in the "only in America" topped it off.

I am losing my dedication to NBC.

                                      Brian,

It was all about the Bride as it should be with her family and friends. A no show for the celebrities. Ted

Danson commented, "Am I the only celebrity here." He and his wife knew Chelsea from childhood and

thought the world of her. How appropriate they came for her wedding which was wonderful according to

what I have read and heard.
