National Media's Failure as Sentinels for U.S. A. Democracy:

There is this potential racial conflagration brewing on the horizon because national media is intimidated by the right wing establishment. We may be at the same precipice as in other country's historically dark periods borne of bad economic periods. But our so called elite and educated media are not bringing to light this current crop of multi-million dollar demagogues pushing us to that point.

The right wing media, Limbaugh and his \"Lemmings" and other divisive pundits both left and right are pushing the USA to a point of no return awaiting some incendiary spark with assistance, by omission from people who should know their history. We will end up like a Northern Ireland type environment if we are lucky.

We seem to be at the point of, well it has never happened before type of attitude. Yeah, we have never had a multi-racial president before, and had never lost two one hundred stories buildings before either. There are a lot of things which have never happened before in my \"original baby boomer" lifetime.

Yet, no one is thinking outside of the box as to consequences of whipping up a very divided ethnic society under great economic strain in a far less homogeneous society than when I was born.

Indeed this country and its inhabitants are probably represent a great reserve of potential as al Qaeda recruits who, justifiably or not, don't believe they have skin in the game. This is not helped by further marginalization by these overwhelming anti-Obama, insensitive latent anti-immigrant and minority radio and television demagogues. These people act as though no one else is listening to their rants and denunciations of this president and suggestions to their listeners that minorities are threatening some of their assets. We want our country back has different meanings to different ears.

I know it is said we have been in bad times before when the societal roof appeared to be falling...i.e. anarchists period, thirties and we did survive with the Civil War being the lowest point. However, the biggest difference between than and now is instant communications by demagogues to a national audience.

This ULTIMATE result may affect all of us within a society that have stores of weapons, and that is supported by feelings of un-spent rage over perceived, or real injustices. The Tea Party movement, which could be compared with another many decades ago in another part of the world is fueled by \"don't take mine".

In a copy cat world it is not hard to see the replication of the terror practiced throughout the world coming to our communities. There are too many people in this country who are potential candidates for al Qaeda recruitment because they do not have \"skin in the game" and these right-wing radio jocks seem to push them further into the fringes.

The attitudes and actions by many of these anti-Obama right wingers are just plain self destructive. What in the hell do they think this president can do to them and our nation's financial health that President Bush has not already?

If they would have a strain of understanding imparted by national media, they would know that we are all socialists, i.e. social security, medicare, VA benefits, home mortgage programs and etc. Yet the truth of this economic story is demagogue by radio jocks while not challenge from national media.

There is a belief, I think, from the national elite media persons, who watch and listen to this poisonous vile spewing in the body politic, that they are insulated from the electorate's troubles. Their lives will be just fine in the Hamptons, Potomac, etc. Further, there is the thinking that calling 911 will always be answered.....But will it?

What a day it was indeed. A clip of a tape used to incite racism only it was defused by a white farmer. Race isn't my strongest subject because luckly I wasn't taught racism. But over the years I heard deep rooted racist like George Wallace learn of the years he was wrong as he apologized. Obama has a zero policy for racism. Now the USDA head rushed to quickly as he to fell for the trick. Many Americans have learned over the years lessons in life. The farmer spoke so highly of Ms. Sherrod I hope she returns to continue helping those in need.

I cry at wedding and I wish Chelsea and her new husband the best. Bill and Hillary did a great job in raising their daughter under the spot light. The Press hasn't been nice or respectful to Chelsea over the years so why would anyone think she would speak to them about this special event. Bill will have to let his little girl go and Hillary will have to share her best friend. We're seeing great examples of marriages these days as we watch the Obamas, Clintons and Bushs live a life of togetherness. It was nice that Chelsea told her parents first of her engagement and marriage.

Brian with all the news about the Regulations it's important to mention that Republicans want to quickly repeal that Law. I hope Mrs. Warren gets the top job she's is the best. Banks are upset because their in need of another bailout after these fraud settlements keep coming.

My bones are ok and it might be because of the collard greens and black eye peas. I do try to eat home cooked meals and drink milk. Taking those daily walks and yes I do go to the gym sometimes with Peaches.

Good Evening Mr.Williams, A fine broadcast this evening.

First of all the report by Anne Thompson about the possible weather threat of a tropical storm which could affect the drilling of the relief wells and the containment cap that has been holding off the leak for the last several days. It will be a huge effort to move ships and put a storm plug in the well and since this would have to be accomplished five days in advance of any weather problem the next few days will be crucial in watching the storm. Hopefully, it will not pose too much of a weather problem and the work will progress as planned. Time will tell.

The report about the United Airlines Flight 967 hitting turbulence showed how frightening it was for the passengers. The violent drop of the airplane causing people to come out of their seats and hit their heads on the ceiling of the plane was awful. This type of turbulence appearing to be hard to predict and fortunately the pilot was able to make an emergency landing in Denver. One incident that shows wearing ones seatbelt when seated is vitally important.

On another note the report by Mr.Corwin about the blue fin tuna was amazing and truly exhibits why these fish are severely threatened by the oil spill in the Gulf. Such massive fish and they swin quite a long distance to spawn in the Gulf waters. It is good scientists are tagging the fish to monitor their movements to certain waters. It is difficult to know what the total affects will be from the oil spill, but one really hopes these fish can be saved.

Sad to learn the passing of David Warren the inventor of the flight data recorder. I agree with you Mr.Williams that we are all better for having him among us.

Hey Brian and all

Watching a Merle Haggard special and they talked about him stealing cars. I felt that this world would not be the same if he was not in it with his amazing country music. I guess we all have an impact-stars and locals within their community and both to their families. The show had guest speak about him and no one ever thought he was happy coming up. They said he was sad. He talked about death and where would he go from here…..what is next. He said his whole life was self contained. Just my opinion- I don’t know him, but listening to his music I heard a man who was shut off from God. His music was so deep. So deep and stationary, trying to not die before God let him in. He is my favorite older musician- his music gives me chills. I say what I say because I too have been without God and I feel his deep humbleness –that there is no way to change it and we get so tired. He pressed on because the music saves him. He loves music and devoted his life to it. God, through him, made music for the world. It is wonderful, and made him be here for an example, without God in it( although I know God always carried him through the trials and pain). God has His ways. I think God wants to tell him to come on home- to find God *here* and there on the next stage. He loves his family, wife and children and has found joy through them which is awesome. The boy is a talented guitarist- hope to see him out there playing. Brian your title today is "A GREAT LIFE"S STORY"------- we know God is calling Mr. Haggard to 'come'. tesa

The Republicans who voted no on unemployment benefits extension keep saying they didn't want to mortgage their children future by increasing the deficit.

With the country running a deficit doesn't the members of Congress have to borrow money to pay their own salary? Even if they say they budgeted for their salary the money they used has to be made up by borrowing.

If they are really concerned with mortgaging their children future they should take a pay cut.

which is all in red in one of the Jewish Bibles, and I am obsessed with one of the most glorious chapters

in the Bible but will not go into it because it is complex and and also it is the Prologue in my novel, a work
