It’s tough to watch South Texas get smacked again by another powerful weather system, but it’s happening right now—I'm watching the live coverage on the Weather Channel. So far this storm season (thankfully for the Gulf) the steering currents seem to take the major low pressure systems due west. That's bad news for South Padre Island, which depends in large part on visitors and sunshine.
Also tough to watch, and a dramatic change of subject: A piece we are doing tonight on the stoning of women in Iran. We are airing it (with a parental warning) because it’s important for people to see, and that's a big part of what we do.
We hope you can join us tonight.
