Brian,
The first photo takes me to Kingston where I went to Primary School.
All so familiar - resembles Jamaica.
I am proud of NBC's goals. Excellent Reporting. Education is important. Was told it is POWER.
Thank You Ron Allen. Such a serious reporter.
"Primary" - The British Way.
My Grandmother (being biased an all) did say, "there is no other way.."
Speaking of education-
Was bribed to go back to college. So, beginning tomorrow, I will be an "online" student.
Scared. Prefer the teacher / student personal interaction.
Again, thank you NBC for all you do. And for being FAIR - to ALL.
hola, rojo mimi, you will enjoy school, it is a great outlet for the human intelligence and you like to think about things and have a say in things and a 4-yr. degree does open doors. my sister, who is doing her nurse practitioner basically online with only every other friday in a classroom just flies with that structure. and you are used to online input. looking forward to your posts with news of your studies:-) blessings, anna martina
Anna
Thank you. The class is a tough one. Ends August 9th. Have any more poetry for us, DN Family?
I so love what you have given us so far.
We all need balance. Poetry gives that.
"The moon to soothe the sun.
Poems to calm the warrior."
What a day of NEWS.
I am happy the President showed deserved respect to the ousted General.
They say- every disappointment brings some good.
Let's hope this event / confirmation reopens the debate about these endless wars.
Praying for an end and bringing our warriors home.
Brian is wearing a fab blue tie on tonight's broadcast.
Gardening?
hola, rojo mimi, i'd be hard put to give you zuchinni now, i only have two babies. lots of blooms, so looking for more babies soon. my son just joined his wife and my little granddaughter in tampa, florida, today, so give a wave:-) they are visiting his in-laws and celebrating their 5th anniversary:-)
arizona sunset
incandcescent ribbons of corals, pinks and peaches
shimmer in the sky
puffs of cotton candy clouds reflect the mellowing
hues for a total sunscape
i walk into the sunset and with each step the earth
has fallen away and i
am walking in etherealness.
the feeling is overpowering, but i am safe in the
knowledge that once the sun slips
beyond the horizon, i will be earthbound
once again.
i was googling stanley mcchrystal and pulling up all of the videos on the sites. i liked him and what he had to say. i hope they do right by him. i'm with richard, petraeus' reputation will be on the line, afghanistan is a very sticky wick. he was being groomed as a presidential candidate, this will be a true test.
have a great evening,
blessings,
anna martina
p.s. if general mcchrystal writes a book, i am going to buy it . . . . .
Hello Anna
"Any man that walks the mead in bud, or blade, or bloom, may find a meaning suited to his mind."
- -says an admirer of Ma Nature.
Wow. What a poem! Sweet gift of Ma Nature and her splendor.
Mankind needs to step away from busy trails, stop, and greet all that nature offers.
The Gulf tragedy reminds us of how so much is at stake.
The images / photos of nature suffering is painful to watch.
At times when an oil saturated bird appears, I close my eyes hoping the image is just a bad dream
but it is not. I missed Brian on Jimmy Fallon. Always miss the good stuff. Saw a clip. Looks funny.
It is really delightful to see a respected anchor who is so smart, so friendly, so approachable
and who seems to fit in-- everywhere and in every situation, in every setting and every corner of the world.
I read your gift/poem around 9, then a pal called to chat about school.
Excited. Love getting good grades for hard work. Anna, love your mind-
Keep the poetry flowing.
The people of Sierra Leone have endured so much. I was there five years ago on a mission trip wtih Lifewater International; our crew repaired wells, taught basic hygiene practices and set up a small business making water filters for sale from commonly available materials. The descriptions bring it all back.
