My wife and I were honored to attend the Kennedy Center Honors last night. We were unabashed about attending as part of the Springsteen cheering section—where every reference to New Jersey made me swoon. What a great honor for Bruce—it felt like a national "thank you" for his work and music thus far in his career. Congratulations to all the honorees last night—a truly great evening.
What an essay Barbara Bush has written for Newsweek. The former First Lady writes about a powerful new film, "Precious"—which is not for the faint of heart. Mrs. Bush has spent so much of her life dealing with the issue of illiteracy—she has performed a great service by writing this.
