Back at Work

Little did we know -- that simply by getting caught in a bottleneck of cars at the East vehicle gate of the White House 15 minutes before the State Dinner -- and witnessing what we saw -- my wife and I would have been witnesses to a scam in progress. A successful attempt to crash the most secure party there ever was -- by two fame-seekers. While I explained my role as observer in this on last night's broadcast, tonight there are new details on what is traditionally a slow news day after Thanksgiving.

I hope you all had a great holiday. Tonight I go home to a house full of relatives and pizza (in that order) and tomorrow is the annual festival of pulled muscles: the family "touch" football game, which tends to morph into the Passive Aggressive Bowl fairly quickly. And my own son is now big enough to throw a mean pass, and a mean block. Oh well. It's the holidays. I hope you can join us tonight.
